Wireless Adapter for RB2 Drums Dead

My wireless USB dongle for the Rock Band 2 drums has gone dead. When I plug it in it doesn't light up and doesn't respond to the sync button. I bought it when it launched so the warranty's no good. Does EA expect me to buy a whole new drum set because a $5 dongle fried? I would gladly pay whatever the cost of getting a new receiver is.

i have the same problem, my adapter died and i cant justify spending another 90 dollars to replace the whole drum set when i don't need anything but the adapter. hopefully someone will find a fix for this soon.
