Like others I purchased Rock Band, absolutely loved it, and had a hardware failure.
However, I'm concerned about the long term durability of the rest of the hardware that I haven't had a problem with (yet).
While I appreciate EA's response to the issue, it seems obvious to me that they should go the extra mile and take care of those with potential ticking time bombs.

i agree, i was hoping they would make an immediate announcement with the barrage of faulty instrument posts, but maybe they have faith in their improved production lines and hope that they will last.
i didnt want to take chances after reading all the horror stories so i went back to best buy a week later and shelled out the $30 for the two year warranty replacement. if ea/harmonix does extend the warranty i'd have wasted $30, but i wouldnt lose sleep over it. for now i sleep better knowing im covered past the 60 days. im sure we'll see people in their third month posting about how their guitar finally gave out, or their drum pad stopped registering hits.
