The only reason I'm asking this is because I was recently banned from ultimate-guitar.com(for an extremely pointless reason). I would ask the members there, but since I'm banned, obviously I can't. So, what I want to know for the real guitar players out there, what's the rough cost to get 2 humbucker pickups replaced at a music store like Sam Ash? I already bought the pickups off the internet so they don't count. If I get any answer it would be very appreciated. Thanks!

Sorry, man, I'm a Strat-player. :D Might get an SG or a Paul sometime, though, after i rob a bank or two or somethin'... Kidding, of course.
If you have any more questions, I'll gladly do my best to help. :)

I also play mostly Strats, though I do have a Strat HSS, which has a humbucker. I've never had to replace it though, so I actually can't help you.

Thanks for at least replying. I wasn't expecting really to get an accurate answer since this is purely a RB forum not a musicians forum. But, I thought I'd just give it a try and see what turns up.

I'd suggest calling the store to get an estimate on what they'd charge. That would be your best bet.

Never was a fan of EMG's. I'm more of a Seymour Duncan/DiMarzio guitar player. I just bought an Ibanez RG1527 Prestige 7-string which has possibly the worst sounding pickups ever. Way too muddy and crunchy. I was planning on replacing them with DiMarzio's. That's why I wanted to find out what the cost was to replace them and I'm kind of low on cash so that's not going to help. I'll just go there tomorrow and ask one of the sales guys to give me the average pickup replacement charge. Thatnks for the replies.

just call them, it's not a shifting price scale. You could also search the web and find plenty of examples on how to do it yourself, as long as you're somewhat comfortable with a soldering iron.

It's like 80 bucks to change them. It's fu**ing rape if you ask me. They charged my friend 40 bucks to install a different input on the guitar. You know how easy it is to install those things?!?!

Yeah, I know they rip you off especially the big chain stores (Sam Ash, GuitarCenter). I'm friends with the head guitar tech at my local Sam Ash so he MIGHT give me an employee discount, hopefully.
As far as your friend goes, he got ripped off big time. Changing the input on a guitar is like changing the strings, it's as simple of a repair as you can get.
I also need to get this guitar set-up too. The strings are so far off from the fretboard that I feel like I'm playing a bass. So, 80 bucks to install the pickups plus about another 50 bucks for a set-up, plus another 5 bucks for strings. Damn, this is going to cost me close to 150 bucks!

Well the strings off the fretboard sounds like either a really warped neck(I doubt it.) or your bridge isn't calibrated to the strings you're using, a typical problem when using heavy gauge strings for the first time(IF you're using a trem system). Assuming you got a trem system on that guitar first check if your bridge is level to the guitar. If it isn't, you're going to have to open up the back cavity and tighten the screws that's holding the springs that's connected to the bridge. It's pretty damn painful if you mess up and accidentally loosen the springs, the bridge is going to bite you.
If you don't have a trem system, then it's just as simple as lowering the bridge. There's two bolts that hold the bridge down, so just get a flathead and lower it until desired place. Do the same if you do have a trem system but the bridge is leveled.
