I have posted about this in a couple threads, but I wanted to post an official bulletin about it.

I have broken my kick pedal for RB and have found a replacement... My father runs a machine shop in KY and is going to simply machine a new one out of aluminum. We are using aluminum because it is extremely durable and still very lightweight. Basically it is a copy of the crappy plastic pedal that comes with the game except that you couldn't break it if you tried...

I should have it sometime this week and will be "testing" it extensively for 4-6 hours a day.....

The reason I bring it up is because I know I'm not the only person who has had this problem and if I get enough requests for it, we will be able to make more than one of them... So if you have broken you're cheap plastic pedal and you're willing to pay $15-$20 for one you will never have to replace, let me know and I will keep record of them.... If/when I get enough requests, I will let everyone know and we'll start making them and sending them out!

I hope I'll be able to end the rock band suffering.... :D

EDIT:::

I see people are looking at this post and just not posting.... I think there is a lot of potential here, so if you need more info or have any other questions, please let me know

I had the same idea, and I'm glad to see that someone else is taking the initiative to do this. Provided the work is sound, feel free to put me down for one.

i have not broken my pedal yet but i feel like it's going to break everytime i use it. i'm interested in your design and would probably buy one for that cost. do you have any pictures?

Are you talking the entire pedal?

A picture is worth a thousand words - I'm probably in after getting a look at the crafsmanship and implementation.

are you talking the pedal part or the whole thing ready to be pluged into the drum kit, if it isnt going to the whole pedal then make sure there are screw wholes to screw everyting in so that its a quick swap out. also I would say open up a ebay page and start selling these bad boys im in either way. get some picks up so we can see what this thing looks like and what you will be selling.

Yeah I think everyone pretty much agrees that if it's well crafted and actually works then there's not much of a reason not to get one.

I'm interested...after I see a picture of it, or maybe an up close vid of it in use.

I would be interested in one as long as we see some pictures of it.

For $15-$20 I think he must be talking about the plate portion of the pedal. Feel free to correct me, if I'm wrong I'll take one too.

i am interested as well. Mine has not broken yet, but i'd be willing to spend a few bucks to ensure i never have to deal with it myself. So put me down for one if the time comes.

That said, I'd love to see some pics or a video of it in action as well.

Pictures would be nice, yeah, and if you really plan on selling them for that cheap (while still making a small profit obviously), then I'd more than likely do it. The stuff it depends most on (besides durability) are looks and how easy it is for me to buy it from you. Are we talking PayPal, then you ship it and that's it? Or is it more complicated.

Details are very important, the more the better. If you actually do this, it'd be cool. :)
