How do i sync my Wii RB guitar?

I need some help. My friends always sync my stuff and I can never figure out how to do it. I borrowed my friends RB game and guitar for Wii. I have the dongle plugged in and the light is a solid blue. When I push the guitar button on the front of the guitar all 4 lights just blink blue. I have seen this before on other remotes that have not been synced. I know I have to push the red button to sync it but I think I am doing it wrong. Can someone please help? Thanks

Press the little sync button on both the guitar and the dongle at the same time. There you go.
