I was just looking at the game stop site and it mentioned a combo pack, but did not detail what is was. Is that the whole smash? Game, Drums, Guitar and mic?

For that price, it better be. Shoot, one might think you're buying a console with it.

No, I don't think one could make THAT mistake!! But then in order to play say Enter Sandman properly, one needs three guitars, drum kit and 2-3 mics!

If they arent official, then how can one pre-order them? Is Game Stop just filling space?

"prices are subject to change"
theyre accepting preorders but one who does it also must understand they may end up paying more or less than the listed price

Ok does anyone know if we are able to preorder it at all? I mean can we go to our local gamestop or gamecrazy and put down a preorder?

First those aren't the final prices

Seccond i'm pretty sure thats not the whole package, i know they aren't the final prices but if you add up all of the prices for "Game, 1/2 Guitar, Mic, and Drums" that is way over the price for the pacage

And that makes sense when you think about it. Companies offer things in large packages so you commit more of your money at once. But in order to get you to commit more of your money, they have to offer an incentive, usually some kind of value or discount for purchasing everything in a bundle. It should make sense that individually adds up to $240, but the package might sell for $200.

You have to think about it. When I first got Guitar Hero, The game package that came with the guitar was 70 dollars. The game being 50, and the guitar was 20. So lets put that into perspective:

1 Game- $50
1 Guitar (At least)- $20
1 Microphone- $20 (Rough Estimate)
1 Drum Set- $60 (Rough Estimate)

So that adds up to $150

If they added a second guitar it would be $170

But, considering these guitars are wireless, lets make it 30 dollars for the guitar

It would be 160, and if they added a second guitar, it would be $190

So, considering my estimates on the Mic and Drum Set are off, it would add up to be around 200 dollars.

According to gamestop website:

GameStop pre-order (FWIW Gamestop was wrong on their 80’s edition date up until 7/17/07):
Pre-Release: Ships 11/20/07
Price: $60 for game only; $199 for Bundle
The Rock Band Bundle for the PS3 includes: Rock Band the game, wireless guitar, drums and microphone.

The guitars are way more than $20. Not only did secondary wired controllers for GH and GH2 sell for at least $50, but now the standard is wireless.

I'd say the pack is pretty accurate. $200 for a guitar, a drumset, a mic, and the game.
And then separately, $59.99-79.99 for a guitar, $79.99 for a drumset and $19.99 for a mic.

I still feel that $79.99 is a bit too much for the guitar as Gamestop lists, although it is supposed to be wireless and has a new look.

I understand $80 for the drums, though.
