Nothing has been said. At all. Except that there is no DLC or online.

it's probably a completely seperate game.

so you're working in a Applebee's in Minnesota, right? and, using your badass spatula/grill peripheral, you have to make as many double cheeseburgers as you can within the time limit and serve them to the bands from the 360/PS3 version of the game, while listening to their tracks on the radio. it's pretty awesome.

are you James Hetfield? I think not, go to Steak N Shake like the other non-rockers (wow, random)

i'm courious if the instruments will be usb or use the standard controller plug. Then if using the standard controller plug will the old SG controller work? A friend is getting it for xmas for ps2. I already have it for PS3

Well I'm not sure how helpful (or accurate) this information is, but when I was in Best Buy tonight, their big Rock Band display listed 12/12/2007 as the release date for the PS2 version.

I find it unlikely that they'd use USB for this for the PS2 version, considering I'm pretty sure almost no PS2 games use the USB slots to date.

yeah, but without USB, there'd be no 4 player support. do they even SELL multi-tap anymore? I bet it'll have a hub like the other consoles

singstar games use the USB for the mics.......that's all I can think of.

I think you should seriously consider getting a 360 or PS3 for this game. Even if it means waiting a couple months longer.

You're playing a ******ed version of the game by going the PS2 route.

I heard it's being developed by a completely different team to the Next Gen versions.

Sure they do, I thought I read somewhere that RB for PS2 will even come with a multi-tap, but I could also be completely off my rocker!

That wouldn't surprise me one bit. Neversoft did the same thing with GH3, they had Vicarious Visions do the port to Wii.

Actually, it sounds like the PS2 will be upgradeable with your console to PS3. I don't know if you'll have to rebuy the actual software, but the hardware is supposed to be compatible.

I do agree that buying a version where there's no downloadable content and no online is losing a *lot* from this game. It is still pretty freakin' awesome though.

Both PS2 and all Canadian RB releases are December 18th. There's a sticky about the Canadian release date, btw.

If you get a 40 GB PS3, you will not be able to play PS2 Rock Band on it--it has no PS2 backward compatibility.

Well, true. But instead of being out $160, you're only out $60 for a copy of the PS3 version, since the peripherals are supposed to be the same.

Seems obvious to me that they would make the Guitars use the 2 Controller ports and the Drums and Mic use the 2 USB ports. No need for multi-tap or hub and should allow for full support of GH Guitars.

just my 2¢

There doesn't seem to be any indication of that, so keep positive! :)
