I RMA'd my guitar earlier today for the ps3....then I come here and read all this.....

I feel sick to my stomach ppl. It feels kinda like....I'm about to get $#@!ed. I hope not, I really do. They already put a hold on my DEBIT card....and I have bills later this month so I can NOT wait a couple weeks. One, maybe.

But....I started thinking about how things have been for me since november.....they have been bad folks. If not one thing, it's been another.....so I am really, really hoping this is the start of a turn around for me, and I get a guitar that works like a dream.

EA, that is all I want for Christmas.

Guys, is there anything else I should do? I filed the RMA online without talking to anyone. They sent me the tracking number, and of course it says Billing info recieved or something along the lines of that.

Just think of all the little kids getting this faulty machinery for X-Mas...

I just ran through the normal replacement option, so I get a box and lots of time to practice the drums. I suggest praying to Hannukah Zombie that your next guitar works properly.

Lol....it is kinda sad to think about. Younguns run down stairs first thing Christmas morning to find a big box wrapped beautifully. The parents stand back and smile as the kids tear the box open with excitement and find Rock Band.

The kids jump around and scream, overjoyed as their parents set it up for them. Afterwards the whole family gets ready to play together, and after a short fuss over who is going to play what, they start.

Mom is going to sing, jimmy is going to play guitar, and sally is going play drums while dad sits back and watches. All goes well the first couple songs, they have a good laugh as they scrape by a few songs together, dad even gets to play a few times.

Then little jimmy seems to have problems with the strum bar. Dad says stop complaining and play right. Little jimmy tries to play some more, only to have overdrive fire off randomly and double strums happen at random. Dad gives it a try and the strum bar quits working completely. Dad gets pissed at jimmy for breaking the guitar already and sends him to his room in tears.

The horror has begun as young sally starts to miss lots of notes because of the red drum pad it seems. Dad goes over to see what the problem is, sits down and tries it himself and ends up breaking the foot pedal. Sally starts to cry as she holds up the pedal...now it two pieces.

Dad goes off to call the support number, but since it's Christmas no one answers his call. He then just falls to the floor, staring at the broken equipment scattered around....

The only one enjoying herself still is mom, who is singing Enter Sandman.

Actually, as soon as mom gets to one of the parts where she hits her mic against her hand to perform a cowbell solo, that thing will also break.

At least EA gives us free coffins through the mail for their expensive broken stuff...

Yeah I saw that poor guy on Youtube who got an empty box.....

Like I said, I really am worried about this....should I call them or something?

You just described my thoughts on this to a T. That is exactly why I had the pre-order for the PS2 version canceled. That is not the way I want to spend my Christmas Day.

I was so looking forward to this game and have been following along now since April. After the release, I come to see my hopes crushed with the numerous instrument failures being reported, here and elsewhere.
Although this game looks amazing, I really can't stomach having to go through all of this.

Maybe in the future I'll pick it up after everything settles down.

People receiving empty boxes have more than likely been opting for the 3 step replacement process. Doing this means you don't have to put a holding charge on or even have a credit card.

I feel your pain I've been told my guitar for PS3 is shipping / has shipped for the past 4 days now which is a total of 11 pains. I call them every 2 days to see WTF is going on.

My IR reciver doesn't hold power so it's not a strum bar issue which would be probably happening as well.

Do not do this. Make sure your bills are paid, and don't assume the hold will come off soon. Anticipate that you will have problems, and it will take weeks to resolve. I'm still trying to get issues fixed that were submitted Nov. 21/22, with no results and no communication so far.

This release was certainly a massive undertaking, and early adopters expect some problems. But at this point, it's pretty obvious that gross incompetence is playing an enormous part.
