I'VE BEEN HEARING ALL THESE COMPLAINS ABOUT THE INSTRUMENTS!! AS FAR AS I KNOW MY INSTRUMENTS HAVEN'T STOP WORKING! I THINK IT IS ALL A BUNCH OF <BS> YOU GUYS ARE MAKING UP!

Step 1, turn off caps lock.
Now, just because your instruments work well, doesn't mean everyone's does. I also have perfectly functional instruments, but I think that just means the two of us should be happy we haven't experienced the problems so many other people have.
I don't think it's as much of an epidemic as it seems like on here, merely because the thousands of people who had no problems with Rock Band haven't bothered to come to the site to say nothing's wrong. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and all that.

This phenomenon is pretty well-known on any forum with tech support. If you went by the proportion of users complaining about computers/software on the internet versus the number of people declaring how well their stuff works, you'd wonder how anything worked -ever-.

The funny thing is when I first got Rock Band everything worked perfectly fine but then my strumbar decided to break for no reason... there I just made a perfect point! Yours will also break and you will complain about it just like the rest of us already have.

No dude thats not it at all. This guy obviously knows the first rule of the internets. Cap-locks is cruise control for an awesome post.
I am not saying just becuase my instruments are not defective doesn't mean there is no defective instruments.That is not my point!!! My point is that there is an awful high percentage of people with defective products.Its kind of sad, is rock band that bad??

I guarantee you with any product, if you look on a forum regarding that product you will find people complaining about something. If people have perfectly good hardware, or have no problems with the game, they probably won't go onto the forums. You're recieving a rather biased sampling.
Also, take into account that they are investigating the problem and have allegedly fixed some issues and are offering replacements.

Not broken yet but mine has the leaf contacts for the strum bar. When I called EA they said the replacement guitars being sent out were the third model and the "guts" of the new guitar were very much improved (new board and chipset and new strum bar mechanism). I'm thinking of sending mine in just to get one of the new ones.

Hmmm. This thread is just kind of a troll. I'm going to go ahead and kill it. If some of you guys were getting towards some useful exposition on the background of the instrument failures (which is cool information), please hold that thought and direct it towards a more cohesive thread. This one scares people off on the first page. (On the first post?)
