When should I buy?

Okay, so I'm looking into getting Rock Band on PS3 as a Christmas present to myself and my family. Though I've heard it's selling out everywhere, there's a nice chunky stack of them at the local Best Buy. Here's the thing, though. I have heard numerous reports about the defective guitar controllers in the first batch--as well as the new batch coming in that is apparently perfect. So here's my question. Have the RB bundles with the new guitars arrived in stores yet, and if not, when are they going to? (Is the fact that GameStop.com has switched the bundle to "Pre-Order: Ships 12/7/07" an answer to this question?)

If they're not going to make it in by Christmas, I figure I'll just buy one of the bundles now and send for the replacement on the off chance that me or anyone I know plays it on a high enough difficulty to notice the defect.

if you can get it just get it, the RMA process is supposedly going alot faster now, if your guitar is funky you should easily receive one to replace it pretty quick.. my new replacement guitar i got today is fantastic! Or just wait for the new boxes to be shipped they probably all have updated hardware.
