View Full Version : EA Sent Me 2 Guitars

I sent in 1 request to have my guitar replaced and it arrived 2 days after I placed the request. The new guitar so far works great, but then yesterday I received another guitar from EA.

I went back to my EA account online and checked to see if I accidentally placed the order twice and there is only one request online. So I sent their tech support a message asking if it's an accident or not.

Did anyone get 2 guitars? Is the second one a more reliable guitar? Or just an error?

I received two guitars yesterday, as did several other people who posted. Not sure what the deal is, but I plan to just send back the worst two of the guitars. I shipped one out this morning (the always-double-downstrum one that originally wanted replaced). I'll play the ones I've got left for a week or two to find the next one to get sent back.

One is to be used for salvage parts.

Seems very odd that so many people would accidentally be sent two guitars.

Does anyone know if the one I got is supposed to be better built guitar? Anyone know if they've redone their manufacturing because the first replacement guitar doesn't feel any different.

The same thing happened to me as well. Please let me know what they say when they contact you back about the situation! I would love to keep the second one for bass :o

It seems all of those who have received two guitars has been a mistake. I sent in a new guitar 2 days after thanksgiving and it still isn't here. EA sent me an e-mail telling me that they had a problem in shipping at the manufacture, but plus side for me is that in the e-mail EA said I get a free EA game of my choice. :)

Yeah let us know what happens, I'm REALLY hoping they send me two guitars so I can keep one for a Bass, but if they're gonna some how figure out they blundered and demand the extra guitar back then that's crappy :-/. I figure they made us wait, and I'd rather have a second guitar then some random game thrown in with my replacement.

One of the 2 guitars i got is crap anyway, so there goes that idea. Whammy doesnt work at all, and downstrum isn't registering either  Ae they just sending out 2 guitars now, and hoping that one of them actually works for you? What a joke

My dad just called me at work and said UPS dropped off a second guitar for me today, this after receiving my initial replacement yesterday. The whammy bar on my 1st replacement was broken, until I punched the guitar out of frustration and it began registering. I'd love to know what I'm supposed to do with the 2 guitars.

I still haven't heard from EA on the matter. Maybe its a free gift?

Actually... it was a big mistake. I have verified that with EA through Tech Support. When you sign for the package, when UPS drops it off, it signs that you have agreed to the terms bound by the package, and that how many packages you received.

I also, did receive 2 guitars, but for the wrong system

It'd be a good way to make it up to customers if they did give everyone a 2nd guitar for free. Its obvious that they knew about the defects because they already had a new strum mechanism designed and in production. They just didn't want to pull the game off the shelves and fix it before they were sold.

The free game is a nice gesture too but not everyone is getting one it seems. I'm just a little disappointed about every thing even though I love the game.

So are they both built with the same quality or is the latest one that I received a better built guitar (feels weird calling it a guitar since it really isn't)?

Damn you guys are lucky. I wish I got my first guitar that I am still waiting for and getting the run-a-round by customer support.

if i get 2 guitars, i'm keepin 'em. i did the normal replacement method, so EA doesn't have any credit card info on me or anything.

I called EA to do the ethically correct thing. I told the manager that I had received two guitars. My MO was to swindle a free game out of them, and I was nice, calm and respectful.

Well to make a long story short, the manager said that I can keep the two good guitars as long as I send back the broken one. I asked her to please note that on my account as I wouldn't want to have an issue later on.

Being the pessimist, I took down her name, date, reference number, as well as the time of the call so they can refer back to any call logs -- if they really have them.

All in all, it was a good experience.

I'm calling today from work and hope I get the same result. Did you speak to a supervisor or the regular person from the call center?

I spoke to a person who told me she was a manager. Whether that is true or not is a different story.

My suggestion is to play dumb, but be real nice and considerate. I am sure they get lambasted all day and hearing a pleasant voice is a nice change of pace for them. I am not giving the managers name as I don't want to get this person in trouble if what I was told is incorrect.

Good luck....if you are on the PSN network my PSN name is the same as it is here.

I also received 2 guitars and there both for my 360. I have been woundering if i should keep them or not. I guess tomarow i am calling EA to ask them about it.

Well I called they wouldn't put me threw to a manager. and the guy told me to send my seconed one back even after i told him I opened it. I was going to keep it because they never put a hold on my acount but it is all ready messing up. So now I only have one. Oh well i guess i will wait tell they sell them seprate and buy one hopefully they fix everything by then.

apparently this is still happening.. i did the online request for a new guitar and i got two. of course i would love to keep one and i dont really care if its "the right thing to do" or not because this will be my 5th guitar between all this crazy incompatibility so i figure ive paid my dues enough. anyways has anyone kept the 2nd one and not gotten charged? thats all im concerned about...

I kept both of the guitars they sent me (which I received on Dec 3) and I haven't been charged. Check the tracking number on both packages. If they are the same (which mine were) EA has no proof of sending the order out twice and the extra guitar is YOURS!!!!

Not such a great idea, taken your guitar apart voids the warranty.
