This could be a follow up to the previous 4,800-calorie burger article... (http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=130704)
The staff dietitian at a doctors group is asking the West Michigan Whitecaps to put a warning label on the enormous new hamburger that it's selling this season. Susan Levin of the Washington-based Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine sent a letter to the Grand Rapids minor-league team on Tuesday. She's asking that the 4,800-calorie burger be labeled a "dietary disaster" that increases the risk of cancer and heart disease.
Whitecaps spokesman Mickey Graham said the team hasn't considered labeling the burger, which he says is a gimmick being promoted as a very unhealthy menu item.

Really? People need to be warned when eating a 4 800 calorie burger?

A burger that size is warning enough.

By not including the warning, we're eliminating the stupid people. Anyone who can't figure out for himself that a burger that big must be unhealthy is instantly classified as too dumb to live.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine is a longstanding scare group. Screw them.
That being said, if not a heart attack, it's at the very least gastrointestinal distress waiting to happen.

I know I am. It won't kill you if you eat it once. Or will it?

They act like we're going to be eating the 4,800 calorie burger every day or something.

They act like we're going to be eating the 4,800 calorie burger every day or something. I know this thing most likely tastes so good that your brain after eating it rejects a second time because of the God like status you give it.

Once I went to Whataburger with some friends and as a joke ordered a burger with 5 patties, 5 cheeses, and a handfull of bacon. Damn thing cost 12 dollars, they gave me a coke for free.
I couldn't finish all of it. Pretty much felt like **** for the next couple of hours.

Hmm PCRM... is this not the group founded by Neal Barnard, author of several books advocating veganism as the most healthy lifestyle while failing to mention that Dr. Barnard is a member of PETA and active animal rights activist?
Googlize it...
Ha, yes, yes it is. They can pretty much go pound sand.

What's special about that?
Veganism and animal rights go hand in hand quite well.

What is special is that he is promoting as science what he is politically biased about. If people want to be vegans and/or animal rights activists more power to them but do not tell me "this is scientific fact" when you are clearly politically biased towards believing that. It throws his conclusions into doubt because we have no way of knowing whether his experiments were influenced by his political leanings.
