View Full Version : Guitar Lost downstrum for Lefty during Garbage song
While playing the world tour with my wife doing vocals, me guitar on hard mode, midway through the song all of a sudden the guitar stopped registering downstrums in the lefty configuration. When i would up strum it would work.
I exited out of that mode and went to solo mode to try this again, and for a bit it was registering as if the calibration was off, then about a minute or two in it started registering better.
Anyone else experience something like this, is the guitar shot then? Damn shame, I like the guitar better than my Les Paul as far as the feel goes, but sure isn't built well if its already broken and I don't beat mystuff.
If anyone got any tips about this let me know.
anyone have this happen to them?
I am going to test tonight again to see what happens, any issues, will place the repair order I guess.
went ahead and ordered a replacement. Guitar would double strum on its own if you are just holding it down on left mode. Righty, no problems. Also doesn't register all the time on the really fast sections. Damn...
Now to try the drums, see how long before those need to go back too!
Replacement came in, same clicky sound like others are getting from the frets. Feels less accurate.
Also, overdrive doesn't work. Can basically swing the guitar around and around and it won't go off.
This oen will be going back. Will see how guitar #3 will be then.

ok the problem that people are having isnt the down strum its actually a pad behind both contacts being to small if you increase the size of the pad so that both contacts are parrell then it would work fine. its not that the up strum or down strum were made diffrent on why one was working or not its because after so many strums the contact would bend.
small pad
--------------] this contact will bend out because the pad is too small.
--------------] this contact is fine and is the one that moves.
____strum bar________
if you increase the size of the pad so that the contact that is bending out dosent move your guitar will work perfectly but however doing this will void your warrenty do it at your own risk.
heck, if thats all it is, I wish they would just fix that and leave the frets alone. This latest guitar is way too annoying to play because of it, let alone the overdrive doesn't work. I'll keep sending them back to EA till I get a good one. No matter how many that takes.
