This is the hardest thread in the world I'm torn between Hand of God off of Screaming life, Ty Cobb, Superunkown, Mood for Trouble, and smokestack lightning (cover).

Very awesome; its inhuman what Chris can do with his voice. However, I'm not much a fan of a capella to begin with, and as such I still prefer this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_UM9tmc5rU) performance of the song when they were opening at the Use Your Illusion tour.
...I also just realised there is no "Other" option on the poll. For shame.

Graaah... If you don't like the band, don't vote. BHS is decent, but not even close to their best song.
It's also rather depressing how everyone seems to think that I'm the only one on the forum who thinks Soundgarden is a great band.

Well for soundgarden, I somewhat appreciate them as a group, I just don't particularly like their music, and I just voted black hole sun because its fun to play on rock band.

Honestly, Black Hole Sun is and always will be my favorite Soundgarden song. But lots of people like BHS because of its grand epicness, so as the song to tie BHS, I must definitely give that vote to Superunknown...maybe even Like Suicide. GIVE US THE SUPERUNKNOWN ALBUM FOR DLC, HARMONIX! PLEASE!

Right now it's Pretty Noose, but I'm hoping to like some more songs since I went out got Soundgarden's Badmotorfinger along with Alice in Chain's Dirt. (I probably should since I've like all the singles that has come onto Rock Band so far).

I posted the singles because I figured that's what everybody knew. Actually one of my other favorite Soundgarden songs is "Somewhere" on Badmotorfinger.

:D You win the thread. Although, if all someone knows by a band is their greatest hit (or even worse, the song that showed up in Rock Band), then that person cannot count himself as a fan of the band. A fan of the song, maybe, but NOT a fan of the band.

I definitely agree with you on that one. That's what annoys me about some Radiohead fans that aren't as knowledgeable about the band as I. Their all like yeah "Paranoid Android" or yeah "Karma Police".

Yep. I don't go around proclaiming myself to be a die-hard Michael Jackson fan even though the only song I've heard from him that I like is Beat It, so why should anyone else pretend to be a die-hard for any other artist when they don't know anything but the number one hit?

And yet I'm slammed in another thread because I have the GALL to suggest if you only know one song from an artist you shouldn't vote in a 'pick your favorite song' thread.
Anyways, I vote "Room a Thousand Years Wide" for my fave Soundgarden song.

Mind Riot is one of my favorite songs to play, the tuning of it is so awesome sounding, which is another reason why I love Kim's playing. Open tunings sound great.
The beginning to Searching with my good eye closed always gets me.

Heh... My name is literally synonymous with Soundgarden. Arms Are Loud is what I though the lyrics Arms Held Out were in Jesus Christ Pose before I looked them up. Before you really start paying attention to Chris, it can be pretty difficult to discern his lyrics.

I actually have liked Soundgarden for years (never got into their deeper cuts until this year or so) but some obsessions are just annoying. This goes for anybody that treats their favorite band as gods among men.

Seeing the Pixies is rare as it is. They don't play that many shows and their reunion could disintegrate at any time. Seeing the Pixies, who are my favorite band would make me happy for a very long time! It's not like their Nickelback and have a strong nationwide tour every year... :(

I don't think of it as an obsession, they obviously had some flaws but I really don't have many friends that are that into Soundgarden, so I don't get to talk about them much.
