Okay, so I was setting up my 360 today, and I thought of something. There are two USB ports. How will I plug in three instruments and a mic? I have a 110" screen with 7.1 dolby - everyone's going to want to play on that screen. I don't want to system link. Is there going to be some kind of splitter we can use so that all four can be plugged in at once, or are we going to be forced to get wireless accessories? I don't want to go out and buy the bundle if I can't use it all on the same console.

USB hub. Something like this. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USB_hub

wireless, idiot. you don't need an accessory. as long as you aren't using the gh2 guitar you can go wireless.

but 110"??? nice!

It is nice. :D

That being said - I'm going to want the bundle. I can't afford to go the expensive route. One of my instruments will be my X-Plorer. I'd like all wireless for the rest of them, but I'm stuck with what comes with the bundle. Maybe it'll come with a hub?

from the prototypes haven't they been seen plugging the instruments into the drumkit? maybe that can act as a hub

that would be sweet because it would suck if they couldnt all go on the same system.

im sure the boys at rock band thought of this though, so far so good.

3 USB ports, actually. Theres one in the back as well, so you're all set. I can't wait to rock out when this game comes out. what's your gamertag?

Well the Guitar and the Mic are wireless, as for the Drums I don't think it has been said whether the final version will be wireless or not, I think the one they have been using at E3 is wired though. for the most part I don't think you will have to be worried about using more than two USBs.

looking at the photo of the mic on the intro page (www.rockband.com for those who link directly to the forum) the mic seems to have a wire coming out of it, so I would question whether it is wireless?

You know what? you're right, I just re-watched a video and I could have sworn the mic was wireless, but it actually does have a wire, it was just very hard to see. Even with that, if you use a Drum set that ends up being wireless, the mic and a 360 guitar and one Rock Band Guitar, you will still have enough space. As it has been pointed out above, there are 3 USB ports. Also if you decide to buy Guitar Hero III you'll have an extra Wireless guitar right there.

The 360 supports USB hubs, so 4 controllers can be plugged into the console at once.

The guitars will be wireless. No need for a hub.

Hmmm, wonder what happens when all the wireless controllers need to be recharged and there's still rocking to do?????

Guess I'll need and hub after all...

The Xbox 360 one will probably use batteries.........maybe?

If so i'll use my gh2 one to conserve batteries........ hopefully the drums and mic are wired otherwise we're looking at a hefty battery charge.

PS3 owners are lucky they have rechargeable wireless controllers that come with the console.

I like the idea of having a USB hub built into the drums (so you could plug the guitars or mic into that) and then having the drums/USB hub wireless connect to the 360 console.

My suggestion... However you acquired a 110" screen with 7.1 Dolby Surround, use that method to acquire all wireless accessories.

i also really like that idea. Have everything wired except the drums.........so if you dont buy the drums but everything else you've still got your 3 usb ports built into your 360 you can use

Are the Guitars only Wireless

I like them wired so that i don't have to keep charging it or buying batteries

If it is only wireless i hope the play and charge pack for regular controlers work on it

The guitars are going to come in wireless and wired varieties.

actually...about the 360 having 3 usbs...most people use the usb on the back to connect their wireless adapter, so it's really only 2

(P.S. by "most people" I mean me...I'm a self-centered dork who likes to make up unverified statistics to back up his claims (and then tell everybody about how he does that (in the form of a P.S.) thus defeating the purpose.))

anyway I kick some serious arse at GH and it'll be a long line to get accepted into my band...which by the way I've already got a name for (I won't disclose it for fear of it being stolen).
