Whoo! Stevie Ray won! Let's give this recently passed legend some respect. He's had experience playing the blues with Jimi, so he will work well with our singer and guitarist.

It's a possibility....Tom Waits is so eclectic/avant-garde that he could steer the band in any and all directions, just like Zappa....but I suppose with SRV on lead, he could mould it into a bluesy/roots rock format...
And if that's the case, I'll go with Jimi's drummer, too:

Awesome. A blues band is good. Idk about a bassist tho. Maybe Noel Redding since he was with Mitch, but I think John Paul Jones would be good too. Or the one that played with Eric Clapton on Let it Rain...

DJ was Elvis Presley's drummer for most of his more rockabilly-ish material. I think his playing style would be an excellent fit with Tom and Stevie.

Probably not, but in protest of her narrow loss for vocalist, I'm voting her for everything this week.
Even band name.

Joan Jett plays drums in my "celebrocker" all-star band in the game from time to time.

Although recently her position has been usurped by Sheila E.

I would not exactly call Waits jazz

As much as I like Mitch I can not seem him working well with Waits vocals, although I can see him working well with Vaughn's guitar skills

Absolutely amazing session drummer, best known for playing with Derek and the Dominos and Traffic. Shame he went crazy and killed his mother.

No I meant only Baker for jazz. I meant Waits for blues...
And it would be funny if Jett wins, but I kinda like taking the instrumentalists seriously. I'm definitely gonna vote for her for band name, tho

Wow, I didn't know he did that! Anyway, YEAH! I remember him playing for Traffic. He's really good. I think he's better at the drum kit than Jim Capaldi, but not at overall percussion. Did he play on Layla? Cos that's some awesome drumming on that song...

Yeah, he played on the entire Layla album. He actually wrote the piano coda for the song Layla, though Bobby Whitlock (keyboardist for the Dominos) claims he stole it from someone else.

I just wonder how well *anybody* would work with Waits. He's not an egotist or hard to get along with, by any means, but he's definitely not what you'd call a band man....always a soloist. I somehow doubt anyone could work well with Waits for long before deciding he's just *too* out-there....

Yeah, they are similar. I guess yeah, Baker has experience playing blues with Cream like how Mitchell has experience playing blues with Jimi...
And Mitchell can work with Waits cos he can play calmly (Wind Cries Mary), go all out crazy (Fire), do a blues shuffle (Red House), or go jazzy (Third Stone From the Sun). Very versatile...But then again, I guess Baker is too ;)
