View Full Version : Slight "problem" that would be awesome if it were "fixed" for RB....

So here's the deal: it's not really a problem, but for a hardcore Harmonix fan it would be awesome. This only concerns the PS3 guitar peripherals.
I bet I wasn't the only one to go ahead and try Amplitude and FreQuency with the PS2 guitar peripheral. The only problem was - there was no way to switch between tracks with it after mapping the buttons. This is a pretty silly proposition, but could there be something - anything - on the PS3 Strat peripheral that is set to a PS3 default for the arrow buttons? That strum bar looks mighty tempting. Oh, and it'd be nice if the top three buttons were mapped for FreQ and Amp already. >_>
This is asking a bit much, but hey, worth a shot.
Yeah, I know it'll never happen. :(

I dunno man. As awesome as Amplitude and Frequency were, I think they're a bit too old for brand-spanking-new controllers to be mapped for it.
I mean, think about it. Would Nintendo make an adaptor so you could use the Wiimote with your NES?

Well, with older titles available via the virtual console you can play them with the Wiimote. I'm not asking for any hardware, just a software edit if one was possible. I understand your point, but the PS3 controller isn't drastically different from the PS2 controller. I'd assume (perhaps incorrectly) that buttons on the peripherals might be fundamentally mapped to Triangle, Circle, etc. still. So I don't think it's too insane of an idea. But if the PS3 mapping isn't in line with the PS2's much at all, then I guess it's pretty much impossible.
I know it's not gonna happen, but I thought I'd put it out there anyway just in case there's someone crazy enough at HMX to do something like this if it didn't take 20 days or completely destroy the game in the process. Which it might.
I wouldn't bring it up if I thought it was unreasonable, but I don't really know how they work inside with respect to the PS3 controllers. For all I know they have nothing in common with the playstation controller anymore at all, which seems more likely the more that I think about it.
Oh well. When Guitar Hero Encore Rocks the 80s comes out that should keep my mind from wondering to weird questions for a while.
