As a kid growing up in the late 70's (yes I'm old) I was lucky enough to discover Rock music and Video Games all at the same time. In fact, one of my fondest childhood memories was on Christmas morning in 1977 (I was 10 yrs old) when I ran to see what presents Santa had left for me, and it was then when I laid my eyes the 2 things that pretty much changed my life forever.... There under the Christmas Tree was a brand new Atari VCS (later known as the Atari 2600) and leaning up against the box was a copy of KISS Alive II (double vinyl LP complete with accompanying concert booklet & KISS tattoos). From that moment on, Video Games and Rock & Roll music would forever play major roles in the rest of my life.

Now at the age of 40, the release of Rock Band has brought it all back full circle. Playing guitar while singing "Detroit Rock City" (with my wife doing her best Peter Criss on the drums!) brings back that same excitement I felt as a 10 year old boy on Christmas day, and for that I could never thank Harmonix & EA enough. I truly wish that the entire KISS catalog was available as DLC. I would literally buy each & every album over again (even "The Elder"). I realize that this is not practical, but then again I am sure Gene $immons would be willing to cut a deal (LOL...love ya Gene). So, on behalf of the entire KISS ARMY (and our numbers are many)...

"WE WANT (MORE) KISS!!!"

That's an army abbreviation, IIRC

I'd love some Kiss, Strutter would be cool, any other of their hits.

However, they did once appear in an Activision game (Tony Hawk's Underground)

No matter. Gene'll sell the band to anyone with the right number of zeroes on the check.

I'm with the OP. Bring it ALL on. Yes, even "The Elder". Well, no hurry on that one, but I'd still buy it.

That would be awesome, how about Love Gun..Ace's solo could teach a whole new generation how to play the "pentatonic scale", which is basically like taking a lesson in Rock 101!!

The Elder, Carnival Of Souls, Unmasked, Destroyer......I'd buy EVERY DLC KISS album they offer!!! I wouldn't be surprised if Gene offers to sell DLC of their trademark facepaint and costumes at some point. Until then, it's up to us to come up with our own, I guess. Here's what I have so far for Gene and Peter. It's a shame the hairstyles are so limited.

Nice work man, I attempted to do the face paint, but mine SUCKED. They should just make a special "ROCK BAND - KISS ARMY EDITION" with every album, and everybody that has ever been a member of the band (with & without make-up). All the different costumes & stage shows from every tour could also be included. For variety they can even include songs from some of the hundreds of bands who have opened for KISS over the years.

Quick, somebody get Gene on the phone!!! ;)

Thanks for the comp, Mycool.
Hmmmm.....Rock Band-KISS Army Edition?! That would ROCK!!!! I'm sure if Gene smells any kind of $$ around such a thing, he'd come running! I'd shell out a lot of money for any/all KISS DLC. I'd rather spend my cash on actual music from KISS instead of baby bibs and pool cues. What'd you use to put their make-up on? For Gene, I had to use the "horn" art item and just fart around with it 'til it looked decent. I ended up using 24 layers. I think that's the limit because I tried to add one more drip of blood on his chin and it wouldn't let me.

Could you imagine playing "Fits Like A Glove" or the solo from "Dark Light"? Man, my mouth's watering just thinking about it. I thought it was pretty cool that Rock Band had the master of DTRC, instead of cheesy covers like GH1 and GH2 had on them.

Are you gonna pick up the KISSOLOGYIII set in a few weeks? Looks like a decent package.

Just wondered if you guys saw this GH custom "Shock Me" on youtube before. Harmonix should find whoever did the note charts for this song and offer them a job.

I'm with you parasite (another great KISS song), enough with the toothbrushes and cologne (wtf!!!) and give me more music. I've heard Paul Stanley say that there isn't a market for new KISS music and that fans would just "tolerate" anything new in concert just to hear the classics. As a life long fan, I completely (& respectfully) disagree, I would LOVE anything new by KISS. I was ecstatic when they announced the reunion tour & then again with Psycho Circus (though the 3D glasses in concert was a bit goofy). But since then, they just keep re-packaging the same stuff over & over (and of course there's those baby bibs). With that said...YES, I have already pre-ordered KISSology III from Amazon and I will continue to purchase anything music related that they put out if there is something "new" included (by "new" I mean previously unavailable). That's why making the songs available for Rock Band is such an incredible idea, since it gives the fans a whole new way to experience the music all over again. Of course this applies to all bands, not just KISS, but IMO (biased as it may be) KISS music and Rock Band would be a perfect marriage (or as in Gene & Shannon's case....long term companions). As everybody here has stated, if there is a profit to be made, Gene (aka Mister "I copyrighted the money bags symbol") will sniff it out.

BTW, thanks for the link to the Shock Me video...extremely cool stuff!

Heck yeah, great thread. I'd totally gobble up whatever KISS DLC Harmonix can throw at me. KISS is basically the essence of what a game like Rockband is supposed to be all about: Rockin' out while playing loud, great sounding music. The whole band part is totally magnified in this regard. KISS has tons of fun onstage, and 4 people playing RB can really ham it up as well...

I personally love playing Detroit Rock City, and the fact that it's a master track makes it all the better. But even so, I also don't mind Strutter from GH2 either, so although I'd hope for as many masters as they could acquire, covers would be ok if they were up to par(I even think Rock & Roll All Nite from GH3 is decent). My most desired:

-Shout it out loud
-Strutter
-Nothin' to lose
-Calling Dr. Love
-Love em' & leave em'
-Rock & Roll all nite
-Firehouse
-Mr. Speed
-Take me
-Christine sixteen
-Plaster caster
-Makin' love

Come on HMX, make it happen please....!!

Wow, you guys. I've only been a member for about 30 minutes and Ive already found a spot I belong in. I almost wanna cry....well not really. lol. It's great to see great minds think alike. I personally requested the ALIVE dual disc set. By far in my opinon the best music they've ever made,..next to Rock and Roll Over. And I would even buy the Elder album, that is before I would buy anything with Bruce in it. LOL. Even Frehley's Comet or 12 picks would kicks some ass...trouble walkin, or breakout for that sick solo. Cause we're rock soldiers and we know...........

Yeah, I think we got a fair amount of Kiss from the games. And Rock Band included the best Kiss song. But maybe they'll add Strutter and Rock and Roll All Night (Not a crappy cover either.)

Mycool

Man, I really hope that they don't do Rock & Roll All Night for Rock Band, even if it's an original. Don't get me wrong, I love the song and it's definitely a cool "party" anthem (or as Paul Stanley says, it's the Rock & Roll national anthem). But it seems that after 30+ years of KISS music to choose from, this is the only KISS song that most rock stations play 99% of the time. I actually think a lot of non KISS fans think that this is the only friggin' song that they ever recorded (except for possibly Beth, which my Mom & my Aunt can't get enough of). It's just that with this legendary band's huge catalog & incredible KISStory, it's almost a disservice to focus on this one song. Shout It Out Loud is another great party anthem and it doesn't get nearly enough play.

Note: I swear I am not making this up...as I am typing this I am listening to Opie & Anthony on XM radio and they are replaying a segment where they talked about Paul Stanley having to go to the hospital a few months back and they are playing R&R All Night in the background (this is weird!)

Arggh!!! Yeah I also remember when Paul Stanley was rushed to the hospital....as I had tickets and went to see them that night here in So. California. We all knew it was gonna be a bad night when their manager got onstage after an hour delay. I was SO bummed out(had never seen them in concert before, and he's my fav of the band), as was most everyone at the show.

Gene and the other 2 still played a pretty good setlist and all, but it just wasn't the same.. Dang it.

That's crazy man, I couldn't believe it when I heard that they actually played a show without Paul. I've seen KISS dozens of times over the years and I couldn't imagine what it would be like without "The Starchild". I even saw Paul solo a few times (twice back in the '80s & once last October at Irving Plaza in NYC on his "Live to Win" tour). I even was lucky enough to meet him briefly a couple of times. He is an absolutely amazing person in every way...singer, song writer, front man, artist & over all Rock God...there is no better IMO.

Does anybody else have the Kissology DVD collections. I just bought the recent one (orange box) but haven't opened it yet. Appearantly my girl bought it for me for Christmas, so now I'm being nice and waiting till then to watch it and giving the one I bought to a friend who I know will appreciate it. Finally Attack of the Phantoms is on DVD!!!

yes i also have the first DVD collection.

Yeah, I've got the first two collections and looking forward to getting the third one. Like you, I have to wait until Christmas morning, orders from my wife! LOL. I like the first two sets a lot, but wish they had included a lot more stuff than they did. I've got a bunch of bootlegs that would have been great to seen cleaned up and remastered. I'm sure Gene will release the "ultimate KISSOLOGY Box Set" within a few years. And, like so many other hungry KISS fans, I'll be at our local BB waiting for them to open their doors on release day.

Yeah, i dont know if the inevitable 3rd Kissology DVD collection will be any great. I mean that the first two cover most of their 3 decade career. The only stuff they could compile for a 3rd collection would be them reuniting and any video relating to the Psycho Circus album. Although any footage of their reunion tour, concert wise, would be great, but there's not all that much that happened in between to fill up 3-4 DVDs. And fortunately for me I was around during this very inactive time so there is really no need for me to buy the next one. My only regret is not going to any of the reunion concerts because I don't think they'll do another, not with Ace anyways.
