How do I update my leaderboard scores?

I recently beat Colony of Birchmen and other songs with higher scores thanks to my IONs. I did this offline, as I saw no need to get online just to play songs by myself. However, when I checked into the leaderboards from the Main Menu, it still had my old scores! However, it said in "local players" that I had my regular score! How do I update my scores.

You have to be connected to PSN/XBL while playing if you want your scores to be posted to the leaderboards. Happened to me before, and the only way I could get the score to update was to set a new high score for that song. Sucks, I know, but that's why the game prompts you to sign in before you do anything.
