Quick DLC question - What else?

Will there be any DLC for stuff OTHER than songs? Like new venues, items, haircuts, instruments, etc?

Nothing has been announced along those lines, and for all we know it may not even be technically feasible. But it might be. :cool: Just have to stay tuned and find out.

Plus, I think if they put out new art assets this early, people would be complaining that they weren't included on the retail disc.

I'd, personally, rather they focus any DLC on songs. Who has time to look at the venue in the middle of a performance? Maybe when you're on vocals as it took me 2 weeks to realize the screen goes black and white and wonky contrast on Sabotage.

I've kinda wondered this too. I think it'd be pretty awesome. I'd be happy to pay for some of this kind of content right away. It still costs them money to create and they probably jammed as much as they could in the box and the disc to still come out even or maybe make a small profit.

I think the majority of the profit model will come via DLC -I could be totally wrong here- since the hardware manufacturing can get so pricey. Kinda like a console that comes out, the majority of money is made from software. Rock Band is advertised as more of a platform which would lead me to believe more money from software(DLC).

I'd think that episodic content increases, like new venues and outfits, wouldn't be outside the reality of what could be done long term, if it's thought of like an expansion pack. Concern would come in about HD space (especially for those poor 360 souls with that 20gig drive)... have to see what the future brings. The game's only what, 3 weeks old right now?

I am hoping they make some outfits available as free DLC for the holidays. I want to have a band where the male lead singer is dressed as Santa and the other three players are female and dressed as elves...

I think they'd be missing out on a big opportunity not to have 'collector's edition' albums released for the big full-length releases. Besides the songs from 'Who's Next' it would be fantastic to get the band members faces and appropriate clothing and instruments to go along with them.
