Surprised there isn't a thread for this yet, but I searched "Zelda Spirit Tracks" and came up with nothing.

So, a new Zelda game was unveiled recently. Apparently, Link drives a train. Yeah. It's not the oddest thing that Ninty's used in a Zelda game (read:Tingle), but it's still odd for Link to be going around in a train when he's still fighting with a sword. Guess the fact that the many generations of Links have been the only even noteworthy fighters in Hyrule history has slowed their military progress?

So, what are your thoughts? Do you think that the whole train thing is going to work? Any predictions for other new and fascinating content in Spirit Tracks? Are you wondering why Hyrule isn't an archipelago any more as well?

ya i'm pretty sure guns and gunpowder came long before the coal powered trains did.

Ideas like this make me feel like Nintendo is running out of ideas for Zelda games, but I'm sure they'll make it work.

I'm not buying another Zelda game until they make something like Four Swords on the DS. :)

You got me all excited, and then I see it's for the DS and it has that really cartoonish look like in Wind Waker. -_-

I thought it was gonna be the next game on the Wii. As for the idea, it's definitely interesting to say the least.

This.
Without the not buying part.
Four Swords (plus wifi on it) for DS would be pure awesome.

I still want a remake of both OoT and MM.

Remake Ocarina??? For what reason would they do that? It's a classic game, they shouldn't touch it

But IDC, this title = new Zelda game... I'm buying it.

BUT!
If any game got a remake...

Pokemon RPG for the Wii containing, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh. With every pokemon able to be caught all the gym leaders will be able to be accessed too... it would be incredibly emmersive and fun...

This would be awesome. But not with overkill on graphics, sorta keep it similar to normal Pokemon games, above screen walk around, but with high quality 3-D spriting.
And maybe something similar to the Pokemon Battle Revolution system, only with no annoying announcer.

Take the last train to Hyrule and I'll buy this on release day.

That was actually my first reaction, haha.

Will Link trade the Master Sword for the Master Blaster?

To be fair, I believe Link's used bombs in all his games.

THIS! So long as they come up with a good storyline connecting all four regions. I'd like to see better animations, too.

Yeah but when trains were invented guns were still very expensive so people often used swords. They stopped using swords after the American Civil War.

Is it going to be Wind Waker Link or Twilight Princess Link?

Wait, what? Muskets were in widespread use during the American Revolution, and many were used in the Seven Years' War. They were inaccurate and an accurate translation would make a crappy weapon for a game, but still.

Wind Waker =/ (I wanted Twilight Link)

I think that it goes under the Waker timeline, but it's a different Link. For one, this Link appears to be a bonafide train conductor, and Zelda isn't a pirate.

a train.
I heard about this game a while back and I was wondering exactly WTF the "Tracks" part of the title was about.

Ah, good. I much prefer cel-shaded Link, I find it to have a much better overall look than the gothic-esque art

I find cel-shading to be a very beautiful style, it's definitely one reason why Wind Waker has made such an impression on me

I like it too, but only when pulled off correctly.
But for Zelda games, I prefer the "gothic-esque art" xD

A Zelda game revolving around trains? Okay...

Considering I thought the last two handheld games were pretty boring, I'm not real excited what looks like another Phantom Hourglass. What Nintendo should be doing is a series revamp on the Wii. That would raise my interest (even if I don't have a Wii).

Don't you know Zelda games will always be bought?
