[U]WOW! Flea almost brought me to tears, that induction was the best discription of Mettalica I have ever heard. What a tribute to Cliff Burton.

That was all so amazing!! The finale was the best, I mean... you had Jimmy Page, Kirk Hemmet, Lars Ulrich, Flea, James Hetfield, Rob Trujillo, Joe Perry, Jason Newsted and Jeff Beck all up on the same stage at once. ****ing beautiful. Even before that, seeing Jason and Rob both playing Bass at once and screaming into the same mic made this Metallica fan very very happy.

Could you imagine bing there. I was awe with all that talent on one stage, I just wish they would have played more.

Really odd though was that Run DMC didn't perform at all. I was sure, since Joe Perry was up there, right after Train kept a Rollin' they would go into "Walk this way" with Run DMC popping out the back... but nothing.
Bobby Womack was soulful as ever.

Makes me wish I saw it. Ah well, I'm sure it'll pop up on Youtube.
Actually, I'm impressed; usually inductions are just chock full of crappy stuff. This actually sounds awesome.

I totally loved the Metallica bit, but what I loved even more was the fact that James mentioned every band that influenced him and pretty much said it was time that they were in the Hall of Fame.
Thin Lizzy in the Hall of Fame baby, hell ya.

Yeah, James has spent more time pondering why he got in over Judas Priest and Thin Lizzy then the fact that he's in. I hope that Metallica's views will influence future HoF decisions more than the rather stupid and self-indulgent letter from the Sex Pistols was.

Must be nice to be Robert Trujillo. Do a tour and an album and get in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I have to say they were pretty classy with the way they handled Newsted. Historically, other bands haven't been so nice like when the guys from Blondie asked "Don't we get to play?"

I don't feel like Rob got an easy pass into the hall, he had been in Suicidal Tendencies and part of Ozzy Osbourne for quite some time, so he definitely paid his dues, even though he's "only" been in Metallica for about 7 years.

I hope so. Why isn't Maiden in HoF?! It's f**king MAIDEN! Oh man, how many metal bands are in the HoF? Two only? (Black Sabbath and Metallica) I know it took forever for Black Sabbath to get in, which is b.s., but it's good to know that they got in.
By the by, how did the sex pistols act?

Rob does an amazing job on bass, plus it's good to know that a Mexican is in the HoF. I like how he even thanked Suicidal Tendencies (I don't think the HoF would ever induct them.)
I wonder if they asked Dave to join them? James seemed to mention that it was for every Metallica member here and not here, so-hmm?

I don't have a problem with it but it seems like there have been some other bands who had long time replacement members left out because they weren't in the classic lineup. Hard to believe he's been in so many years to have only played on one album.

I guess it all determines who the band members are and what they think of the old members.

I had no clue that these things were televised. Who played bass for Metallica?

I'm glad Trujillo got in cause he seems like a stand up guy and he is a great bass player. It seems like he truly is a member of the group and not a hired hand. I love Suicidal and I know he paid his dues with other bands but upon further review and to play devil's advocate, why should he get in?
What has Metallica accomplished since he has been in the band to merit their induction into the hall? Obviously, Cliff played on the (best imo) albums that defined the band. Jason played on the breakthrough albums and through the decade of their ascension to biggest band in the world status which is really the era that made them hall material. Rob joined after they had accomplished pretty much all they are going to accomplish. Heck, Bob Rock has played on as many albums as Rob and I don't think that anyone would argue Death Mag is a quintessential album. Good for him but he is not enough a part of the band's history and accomplishments to be in the hall of fame as a member of Metallica.

This and that performance was probably the most epic thing I've ever seen in my life. :D

They got inducted but instead refused to attend and wrote a letter calling the RnR Hall of fame a "piss stain"

Who cares? The Sex Pistols were all about style over substance. They're only in because music journalist have a hard on for them.
