Wrong Replacement Guitar Thread

My replacement guitar finally arrived today (12/4) that I ordered a few weeks ago (11/21). I excitedly ripped open the box, only to find a "XBOX 360 ROCK BAND WIRED GUITAR" box inside, and I requested a PS3 one.

I thought maybe it was my fault, but no. The billing label clearly says it was supposed to be a PS3 one.

So out of boredom, before sending this thing back, I decided to open the small box. And what do you know, inside was a PS3 guitar.

Moral of the story. If anyone requested a new guitar, and they open it only to find a box labeled for the wrong system, go ahead and open that anyway, because the actual guitar inside might be the one you needed.

good post. i wonder how many people tore through every box...including those that received 4 strats at once.

Heh. Strange. I was turned off heavily by the fact that the outside box said XBox 360 all over it. Even after talking with the EA phone rep on the phone, my RMA was flagged for a XBox 360 for some reason.

Weird.

Just as an update, I've played the new guitar for about an hour or two. Granted, it could still break, but so far it's worked like a charm.

I put it through its paces, playing some expert guitar on Paranoid, Are You Gonna Be My Girl, Dead on Arrival, and some other songs that I could immediately think of as having fast/repetitive chords. I was able to downstrum 100% of the time, and hardly missed a note (and when I did, it seemed to be my fault).

I noticed the strum is still really soft, which I like, but it lacks the sound of the old one. On my old guitar, when you would strum, it was as if you could hear the foam compressing...no other way to really explain it. This one is completely silent. Unfortunately, the frets are clicky, but I can at least deal with that.

LOL. I took that box labeled XBox 360 and opened it on this suggestion. Low and behold, PS3 guitar inside. I need to get one of my friends that plays Expert to give it a whirl and see if it responds better than the previous one.

funny. i wonder if all those guys that saw multiple ps3 guitar boxes but needed a single xbox360 strat had the wrong boxes only. although i think i read at least one person opened theirs up and had a useless strat.

I got mine today and it was wrong. I even opened it up just to be certain it wasn't my ps3 controller. I was wrong they sent me an XBOX 360 guitar. THis is beyond frustrating...
