After reading so many negative and complaining posts it's beginning to make me ill.
From the defective equipment to where's all the DLC!
All my equipment is functioning just fine.
And I really appreciate all the DLC that has been released so far.
It takes a lot of time to make the charts and synch them up and stuff. Have you ever made a custom chart for the PS2? It isn't easy people.

I'll use this thread to appologize publicly for the DLC thread...I didn't mean for it to sound like a whiny complaint. I love this game and think they've done a great job. I just thought the goal seemed lofty. I already appologized to Sean so I thought I'd throw it here too. I didn't mean to disrespect the game.

Oh, I forgot. My XBox got the RROD five days after I started playing Rock Band, and I haven't seen any of the traditional, "Your game/patch/DLC killed my XBox!" threads.
So, please, allow me:
Do not run Rock Band! It killed my XBox! Damn it, Harmonix, why didn't you catch this in QA?!?
And thanks for my favorite game... ever!

okay, i can see your point... i totally love this game too, but if youre on the other side, like me, and you've had an RMA out there since the FIRST DAY to get your guitar replaced and you havent received ANY HELP from EA support, you'd be mad too.
i've been given 2 things on the first day:
1.) an RMA#
2.) a tracking number, which still only reports billing information received".
i have not received ANYTHING further.... no "sorry, here's a free game", no "sorry, your guitar is on the way"
nothing.
THIS is why they are taking a beating in the forums, because of their own incompetence in dealing with this issue... and everytime i read the story of another person who has gotten the free game offer or their NEW guitar, yeah, that pisses me off because i was in-line the first damn day and here i sit 14 days later with a broken guitar and EA support IGNORING ME.
yeah, i'm mad.... and rightfully so, i believe.

The only problem I've had with Rock Band on my PS3 is that it is occupying my every waking minute. Oh, and I'm terrible at drums--but getting better.
The nature of the internet is that those with complaints show up. Reading these forums can in no way give you an accurate sense of most users' experiences, because most of them are busy loving Rock Band.
Harmonix rules. I sold both my Guitar Hero III packs back--it was fun, but Rock Band is all that times three.

I do love the game just hate the hardware. I mean why else would I go out of the way and make custom equipment just so I could play the game I paid 180 bucks for.

I say "Bravo!" to the Rock Band team for surpassing my expectations. You've delivered a great product that's giving me a lot of enjoyment.
The hardware is definitely a concern, but I appreciate that everything possible is being done to put this right.

I can understand being frustrated, and I don't think it would be out of line with the experiences you've had. But the OP posted this as something to say "thank you" to HMX for making a great game. They've had some bumps at release, and some of the hardware hasn't worked as well as should be expected (my guitar died this week, too.. and I"m waiting on a replacement). There are plenty of posts and threads about people being frustrated about their equipment not working, features/bugs, lack of 1000's DLC 35 seconds after release, hamsters eating through their USB cables and people choking one another with said cables when the fan cap is reached. This thread was a chance for the OP to stop and say "thanks" to the folks that worked so hard to make all these experiences possible.
The end result is that the game is awesome, and I'd like to also post up thanks for making a spectacular game!

The game is indeed awesome. My friends and I play every week because it's a good excuse to get us all together for some fun, food, and drinks.
I focus on the word "game" because in reality, none of us really NEED this thing. It's just a good way to relax and pay ourself back for working hard to make it in this world.
If people can't see beyond the game they need to check their priorities.

The game is super, everything I wanted it to be. At least everything that really matters. Bravo Harmonix, good job!
Here's hoping everyone gets their equipment working and all can enjoy the game as much as the rest of us.
Happy Holidays! Everyone!

Lies!!!!!!
You sure there's not one person in your department you can use as a scapegoat? I mean, if I worked with 30 people, I'm sure I could find someone to put all the blame on.
Just don't make it Grace or yourself... :D

Yes, my intent with this post was just to let the guys now I appreciate what they've developed.
This is the best game I've ever played. Even my wife plays every night. She would only occasionally play GH. That's saying something.
Now I'm just waiting for more metal DLC of the heavier variety. Hopefully I'll get some. :p

One thing to remember is that the EA return division is separate from Harmonix, so crapping on Harmonix does nothing. That's why they made a different forum for customer service. It's like going to DisneyWorld and kicking Mickey Mouse in the jewels because you got a bad hamburger at the McDonald's in Disneyworld. Yeah, they are working together, but they are still run separately. It's the EA customer Service guys that should get the flack for your delayed replacement.

My equipment has also been functioning fine....BUT.....I don't think I play mine nearly as much as others here. I have a full time just which takes up most of my time. Mainly just play it at night once in a while and on weekends. But I worry that mine will eventually go with time, hopefully not after the warranty period.
And I don't see why EA doesn't deserve a little heat for 2 things. 1) I can't believe equipment would be released with such major issues. They played off the whole online BWT thing by saying they didn't want to rush anything, when actually it seems as if they did. 2) The support some are receiveing seems to be suspect at best. If replacement equipment is not readily available then some communication would be nice. People hate to be left hanging.
