View Full Version : Problem With OD Activation (Guitar)

Last night I was playing Rock Band 2 and I noticed that the very instant I obtained enough energy to activate overdrive the game automatically activated OD for me, even though I didn't tilt the guitar at all or hit the select button. I didn't really think anything of it and continued to play, but then it happened again, and again and again.

The only way that I can keep my OD from going off is to stand completely still like a statue. If I move my guitar at all, up or down, left or right, it instantly activates OD. I also noticed that as soon as I touch the whammy bar it also makes it go off.

I would assume that the cause is a loose connection inside the guitar, since any little wiggle makes it go off. Has anybody had this happen to them in the past, and is there any known way to fix it? And before anybody asks, I didn't drop or hit the guitar in any way which would make an internal component come loose. I had already played 4 or 5 songs without incident when this started to happen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Edit: I'm using the standard RB2 Fender Stratocaster on a PS3.

it could be a loose connection, but probably the way your holding the guitar. maybe it is tilted to much??

I don't think so, because it still happens even when the guitar is tilted straight down at the ground. I tried it out of curiosity and it still activated on me.

I don't know what to do since I've had the guitar for about 6 months and it is out of it's warranty period. I don't really want to buy another guitar since this one was already a replacement of the one that came packaged with RB2 which has eerily similar problems. :(
