wii rb1 help

bought rock band for my son and didn't have the mic, got the mic but found out the guitar was not compatible, it was guitar hero only! baught a general "Wii wireless guitar" doesn't say for any specific game it's just a Wii guitar. The game won't register that the guitar is even there. Any suggestions. Please help.:confused:

RB1 for Wii is only compatible with RB instruments. Get RB2, it supports all the Wii music game peripherals.

well that sucks ok so I will exchange the game for rb2 and then my mic and guitar should work right? thanks for the info. Roxigin

Most usb mics will work.

Another option: look for a gadget called the Datel CrossPlay. It goes where the Wii Remote goes in a GH Wii guitar, allows the guitar to work for either GH or RB and for either Wii or PS3. I plan on getting at least two of those bad boys!

New user on the forums, just got my Rock Band today! And I was looking very forward to playing some cool tunes. But all it does is blink from the USB receiver and same with guitar. It locks on while syncing, but when starting Rock Band it loses this connection between the two links. When trying to unplug the USB receiver it doesn't relight and the guitar "turns off" after an couple of minutes.

After much googling and looking various forums about topic, I same across your site and the CrossPlay solution, unfortunately i read some reviews at that too, and it wasn't able to make an steady connection in most cases.

What else can there be done to fix this problem ? I havent really found anything, but I hope you guys could update this tread and tell some more usefull (hopefully ;-) ) information.
