No, just lasts forever. If you're doing drums and guitar, wait on guitar until you have a full bar, then activate. Should last you the rest of the song if you get Unison Bonuses.

I see. None of my friends have Rock Band so I can't play with the drums/guitar combo. Thats why I am asking for help.

My friends and I managed to get this achievement on So What'cha Want. I don't like the song but it's really easy on both guitars so you can get a lot of energy.

Just let the drummer activate Overdrive first.
