Is this possible to do? I know on the xbox you can transfer your songs from rockband into rockband 2 for a fee. Is there a way to use Wii points to do this? I hate knowing that I have RB and a trackpack disc that I cant use in RB2.
If not possible now is there a date in the future that this will be available?

No, it's not possible on the Wii.
Due to various technical reasons, RB1 export on the Nintendo Wii is not possible.

Totally agree, switching discs is just not an option. I know the Wii is always behind the other consoles but it would be nice to hear if they have plans to integrate the other track packs somehow.
Well Harmonix???????????

Noooope~
TP imports work on code redemption. Wii does not do that. I should know. I asked this a trillion times. 8D

This has been asked and answered many times.
Nintendo does not allow game patches. HMX used a game patch to allow exporting of the RB1 tracks on X360 and PS3. The Wii also does not have a code redemption system that would allow for track pack downloads.

In essence, Nintendo sucks, we're screwed.
I still go with my theory of Nintendo hating us because we're planning a game to go in competition with their rhythm/music games.

All Harmonix can do is eventually put up the RB1 songs (minus the obvious ones that 360/PS3 owners can't export) as DLC later on. Only problem is how much of a pain in the ass the licensing will be since 360/PS3 owners have to pay 5 bucks for said export.

DLC on SD card is still DLC you bought. You should be able to redownload them onto the SDHC when RB3 comes out~

I still can not believe how many players complain/whine/cry/refuse to buy a game because they can not take 90 seconds to change a disc! Not an option? Get over yourself! It should take about the same amount of time to use the restroom and wash up your hands while your buddy is changing the disc. Don't have a buddy? Probably because you whine too much and are lazy and don't wash your hands after using the bathroom! Turn the game off, and cry yourselves to sleep!

Why can't there be a RockBand Channel that does the conversion?

This may be a dumb question, but all I have is RB2 for Wii. I have several DLC downloaded. If I buy the RB1 disc, will the DLC I downloaded be able to be played on RB1 when I insert that disc?

EDIT: right, I wasn't thinking about the Wii.
RB1 did not have the ability to purchase DLC, so I don't think it will be able to see any DLC either.

Yes. DLC is not game-specific.

its not just the disc changing. rock band 1 is terrible compared to rock band 2. it has a different look, the drums sound odd, and there are way to many calibration and pad misses in rock band 1 that i have never seen in rock band 2.

Amen! The other platforms are able to do it, so why not Wii? It is unnecessarily annoying to change discs, AND RB2 certainly improved upon the gameplay. DO IT, HARMONIX!! PLEASE THE MASSES!!

It's out of Harmonix's hands. They can't do it because it is a memory issue. The Wii doesn't have a hard drive.

Why wouldn't DLC from RB2 work on RB3? One would think that HMX took that into consideration at least.
Further, why doesn't HMX make an offer where you can mail in your RB1 Disc and be given a code to download all of the RB1 songs as DLC? That would solve the problem. Each user is given an individual code that would allow the download. Once registered, it cannot be used by another, which would prevent scamming.
Harmonix, this is the solution!

The Wii may not have a hard drive, but at least it has its SD card! Not to mention that many have already pulled off the ol' hard drive on the Wii trick.
It can be done, somehow.

Or, heck why not re-release RB1 with the EXPORT patch onboard? Allow RB1 owners a free copy of a patched version?
C'mon, I can't be the only person thinking of this stuff!

1. There have been numerous threads about this in both of the more applicable forums, and
2. This forum isn't busy enough where one misplaced thread will make it significantly more difficult for users to find and post in other threads.

Wow, if I were the only person who cared, this thread wouldn't exist.

I think 32 gig SDHC cards are enough space.

SDHC cards larger than 2 gigs are not compatible with Rock Band 2.

i dont see why HMX cant sort out something with nintendo, for us to redeam a nintendo ticket code for a unique product code, then we put that into the ticked redemption thing, then it downloads just like DLC, i dont see why its not possible, its just licensing that will need to be sorted
