I'm not the only fan here am I?!
I love James Bond movies, haven't gotten around to reading any of the books. I will eventually.
I want to hear about your favorite Bond film, least favorite bond film, favorite bond chick, bond villain, bond actor, gadget, bond intro, car, thoughts on the current bond, (or a previous bond) whatever else.
I can't say I'm a HARDCORE fan, but I love the Bond franchise. There are a couple of bond films I can't stand. I think I've scene every one at one point, but I might be missing one or two.
Watching Licence To Kill right now.

I'm starting to watch the re-releases on Blu-ray with my dad, who is a huge Bond fan.
Dr. No was great! We didn't much like Quantum of Solace, though.

... but License to Kill and The Living Daylights were great... I've seen all the films except for the latest one.
Anyone play any of the video games? I loved Everything or Nothing and Nightfire~ never got the chance to play Goldeneye though~

That last movie didn't SUCK that bad! It was that good, but it wasn't horrible either. Plus it was a sequel to Casino Royal (for those of people who actually didn't know).
I liked some of the older bond movies. I think Peirce had the looks of bond while Craig has that attitude of bond. (The current Gen Bonds... meaning of the late '90's to Now).

All of the Connery Bond films will seem kind of campy and out of date (and sometimes kind of corny) but I love all of them, Sean Connery is considered among fans as the best, or one of the best Bonds. (he was obviously the first)
Other fans I've spoken to (and non fans, just casual moviegoers) seemed to dislike the two newer films (Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace) But I liked them quite a bit. I can understand the dislike though.

I've played every bond game since Goldeneye 007.
Here are MY opinions.
Goldeneye 007 is the best bond game.
Tomorrow Never Dies sucked major balls.
The World Is Not Enough was a great game.
Agent Under Fire was a good game.
Nightfire was probably the best out of the bond games that didn't follow a movie.
Everything Or Nothing was a good game. I liked seeing Jaws.
Goldeneye: Rogue Agent was OK at best.
From Russia With Love was probably the 2nd best Bond game to follow a movie.
Quantum of Solace Sucked Major **** and Activision and Treyarch should NEVER make a bond game again.

I disagree, I think Pierce Brosnan was the worst bond ever and George Lazenby is the second worst (I'm soooo glad he only had one bond film)

I never played any of the bond games but heard that Quantum of Solace was worth a rental, I think I'll pick it up sooner or later.
If you ever do see QoS try to forget everything about the previous bond films and keep in mind that QoS is a "reboot" of the series. In addition to that it takes place at the BEGINNING of Bond's career (like Casino Royale did) before Bond has grown into the person he is in the older movies, and before Q branch was very involved with MI6. etc. etc.
That last movie didn't SUCK that bad! It was that good, but it wasn't horrible either. Plus it was a sequel to Casino Royal (for those of people who actually didn't know).
I liked some of the older bond movies. I thin Peirce had the looks of bond while Craig has that attitude of bond. (The current Gen Bonds... meaning of the late '90's to Now).
I've had this same discussion with someone else before, about Pierce and Craig. I dislike Pierce because Bond films have always been known for having an element of humor, but I think Piecre was a joke. I think Connery has the classic image, and Craig has the attitude.
My reason is, supposing Connery walked into the room as Bond. My reasoning is if Piecre walked into the room as Bond (and I were a bond villain) I'd probably laugh at him. If Craig walked into the room as bond I'd probably have enough time to **** myself before he killed me ha ha ha.

Quantum of Solace Activision and Treyarch.
Oh hell! The guy I talked to about the QoS game told me it was "Like Call of Duty," so I guess I just assumed he meant CoD4, because I like that one. It didn't occur to me he could've been talking about CoD:WaW when he said Call of Duty.
I'd be thoroughly pleased if Treyarch never made ANY game EVER again.

Oh i would be very fine with that too.
The thing that pissed me off with QoS game was, i could die in 3 shots... when the difficulty is on EASY. I'm pretty ****ing sure that you don't die in 3 shots on easy...
Well i tried playing it on medium and i died even quicker... i got pissed so i changed it to easy... got through the majority of the game before i said "**** This" and traded it in.

Timothy Dalton is the worst Bond, and the latest Bond Movie sucked a fat one.
I'm just the opposite - I thought that Dalton was the best bond, as a character, but that he had the two worst Bond Scripts to deal with - the Safe Sex Bond (Living Daylights) and the Revenge Bond (License to Kill) - but as a performer I liked his bond the best.
I grew up on Roger Moore, and really liked Connery. Brosnan was not bad, and I really like Craig. Lazenby can be forgotten. :)
And I love Casino Royale/Quantumn of Solace. They make a nice 5 hour movie. :)
I just bought the Deluxe Bond DVD 4 box set of the first 20 bond movies (Dr No to Die Another Day). Each one has a high quality DVD transfer and a second disc with all sorts of second features. Found it for 110 bucks - so $5.50 a movie. I've always wanted all the bond films... and so I just need to get Never Say Never (not a Broccoli production, but Connery is in it :) ) and Quantum of Solace. I don't consider the original Casino Royal a real bond movie.. more of a spoof of spy movies in general.

In true James Bond spirit I should make a pun here about your mom having good taste but I choose not to because it could end badly, which is not my intention.

I liked both The Living Daylights and Licence To Kill, I think they're just fine compared to such Bond films as, er... On Her Majesty's Secret Service (oh god) and A View To A Kill. (OH GOD) Christopher Walken is the only reason the movie is watchable. I do enjoy Moore as Bond, but he's not my favorite. He was 50-something when he filmed a View To A Kill. He was older than the supporting actress's mother.

Garbage did the intro to TWINE, which is certainly up there in the top Bond Themes.
I need to watch A View To A Kill's intro again, apparently that was Duran Duran.

lol I was confused. Before I saw the movie I thought it was a Guns N' Roses song, then I read somewhere that it was a cover of the Beatles version, but now that you mention it, I distinctly remember seeing Paul McCartney and Wings in the credits ha ha ha.

I'm reading through a wiki article now, apparently Alice Cooper had a version of "The Man With The Golden Gun" that was discarded in favor of the Lulu song that appears in the movie. Also, Johnny Cash recorded a version of "Thunderball" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YmUriQ_PJjY), which similarly was replaced by another artist.

It's a very Cash-y song, so it certainly makes a lot of sense. I may have to find a version of this for my Zune.
It certainly wouldn't have fit a Bond movie though.

Sean Connery and Pierce Brosnan were the best Bonds in my opinion.
You Only Live Twice is my favorite, without a doubt.
When it comes to theme songs, I only like the You Only Live Twice theme by Nancy Sinatra. Bjork did a stellar cover (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bi5f3TVhnoE) of the song. Tomorrow Never Dies (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiTOV6Nu0iw) by Swan Lee was supposed to be the title song to the movie of the same name (this video butchers the best part of the song, if you want to hear it all, beat Hitman: Blood Money or get it illegally), but they chose Sheryl Crow's version at the last minute. Maybe because Sheryl Crow was more known around the world at that time?

Obviously there'd be bias, but I'm glad they went with Sheryl Crow. Swan Lee's voice is too high pitched.

Yeah, very true, Pernille Rosendahl's voice might be a bit too high pitched to appeal to an international audience.

Sean Connery, in addition to being my favorite Bond, is also one of my favorite human beings. I love Goldfinger to death. It's so good.
All of the Connery Bond films will seem kind of campy and out of date (and sometimes kind of corny
I think the special effects can sometimes seem dated, but the series as a whole ages better than most films from the 70's. The fist fight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ea7JxAvzUMg) in From Russia With Love? Still awesome. The underwater battle in Thunderball? Still awesome. The ladies? Still beautiful (Ursula Andress (http://stoposteoporose.files.wordpress.com/2009/02/ursula-andress-dr-no-1b.jpg) in Dr. No still makes me feel warm and fuzzy).
...and the latest Bond Movie sucked a fat one.
I disagree. While not a tremendous addition to the Bond franchise, I'd take QoS (or any Bond movie) over most other contemporary action movies. I like Craig, and I'm glad to see Bond return to that Connery style brawler rather than the suave pretty boy spy in the vein of Dalton or Brosnan. His relationship with M is great, and I like his portrayal of a more "cursed" Bond, who ends up killing everyone that gets close to him. Not as carefree as some of the earlier films, but if it means Craig is doing badass stuff like dragging the bad guy into the middle of the desert with nothing to drink but a can of motor oil then I can live with that.
While I'm not crazy about the fact that the last few Bond movies have relied so heavily on the Bourne formula, I think that there's still enough decent action to carry a film.

Sean Connery (and John Cleese!) FTW
Believe me I wasn't dissing the early Connery Bonds, I love all of them, the effects being old isn't a problem for me. What I meant was, there are certain things that happen from time to time or certain things he does that would have people going "WAT". For example... When he escapes the research facility in Diamonds Are Forever by hijacking a space buggy and driving it through the desert while henchmen on miniature trikes give chase. That's a moment where most people watching the movie will be either amazed at how awesome it is, or will rage at how silly it is.
I'm not complaining though, I think it's awesome, I love it. At first I was like "OMG WT this can't happen!" then I sat back and reconsidered, thinking to myself "But then again... This is James mother****ing Bond he can do whatever he wants. Yeah. This is brilliant."
I have to admit, I always liked Tiffany Case from Diamonds Are Forever and I think my favorite bond chick until recent was Kissy (his "wife" in You Only Live Twice) . Then Camille (Olga Kurylenko) came along in QoS and stole my heart.
Also, Mr. Wint and Mr. Kitt are my favorite bond villains, next to Jaws. In spite of how outlandish and exotic Jaws was I always liked him. While outside of his own natural environment he fought a shark in it's natural environment and not only defeated it, but killed it by biting it to death. Sharks bite humans to death, not the other way around!
