Hello all i just moved from a Wii to an xbox 2 days ago, and for the life of me i cannot figure out how to talk ingame atthe menu screens etc. i ca hear other people talking to me etc, but canot talk back.
I have xbox elite, xbox live gold, the rb2 bundle and the keypad atatchment for the controller.
i though from hat i read that i could plug the headset into the keypad whichis attached to the wireless controller. My internet connection si fine obviously. is there a button i need to use for push to talk?
somone told me had to have my console setting set for audio to Mic. but cannot find any such heading in the console settings.. i have tried boht the headsetthat came with the xbox live pack ,a nd theheadset that comes with the xbox elite.
i also see posts about soem knd of adapter needed, but wuldnt that only be for my guitar r the drums or something?
Tyopically heres how it will go my wife is on drums, i play guitar/bass, and we join the xbox live tour etc and we hear people join and they can talk but i cant seem to getthem to hear me. and yes the little switch on the wire is pushed up so it shows green.
Please please help. this is one of the big reasons i bought the xbox and sold the Wii.
btw my gamertag is hexahopi, we are in our late thirties, if anyone is interedted in fun casua play. maybe even a bit more than casual , worl tour or challenegs if you need. lol

Plug your headset into whatever instrument you're playing. That same instrument should be the one signed into your XBL account. If your wife is playing drums, she can sign in on the drums as a Guest under your XBL account.
If you're playing guitar, make sure the guitar is the one signed into XBL. Push the Xbox Guide Button and you'll be able to see if you're signed in on that instrument. Don't even have your standard controller pad turned on, you only need that if you're going to play a vocalist character.
You have the newest headset type, so you don't need any adapter to plug it into your guitar. Just plug it in to the port on top, here:

Don't plug it into the silver port on the bottom.
