I ordered new drum pads to replace my old broken ones, but I can't seem to get the old ones off. I tried unplugging them from inside, but they don't seem to want to come out.

Is there a reason for this or do I need to just get someone who can pull a little harder? I tried scratching off all the adhesive that was stuck around the little plug but it didn't help.

Which console is the drum set for?

The ones I've taken apart needed some firm persuasion to get the rubber grommets to pop out of the base. You wedge your fingers between the pad and the base at a point beside the rubber grommet and pull. It should pop out. Careful when taking the last two out, you don't want to pull too hard and end up ripping the wire from the sensor.

They are for the xbox360. And I think you misunderstood me (or maybe I didn't come of too clearly). I am trying to disconnect the pad from the drum set so I can replace it with a new one. There is a little plug in (I don't know what the actual term for it is) connected to the wire that connects the pad to the drum set, and I need to remove it. I am pretty sure it should just pop out, but it doesn't seem to want to come out so maybe I am doing something wrong.

They've been gluing the connectors on. Grab a Q-tip and some rubbing alcohol. Drop like one drop of rubbing alcohol on the connector, and then give it about 30 seconds to soak in. Then gently wiggle the connector out with a pair of pliers.

Yeah I did, sorry. My PS3 set's had some foam over the connection from the sensor to the pad with a connector that just slid on a receptacle on the base. Came apart pretty easily.

and Scorehero has a good section on drums as well. You might get some insight there.
