im pretty sure the downloadable content will be available on the ps3 as well as the 360 cause when they talk about DLC, they never specify which system it's gonna be on so im assuming both, but i wasnt sure if anyone knew here for ure weather or not the DLC was gonna be for both systems on xbox live and the playstation network. thanks.

Although it hasn't really been officially said, I don't see why it wont be. I don't think they have said otherwise, and I wouldn't think 360 would be the only one with DLC.

HMX never said a thing about ps3 not being supportted. It's odd though because teh PSN doesn't have a whole lot of DLC for their games. People just know this kind fo stuff is done with 360 so they talk about it more.

keep in mind that PSN isn't nearly as robust and mature as Live is, and Sony never put a whole lot of effort or resources into it until they saw not only MS's Live service kick arse and take names, but now the way the Wii is distributing content (mostly virtual arcade classics from the old NES/SNES etc, but it still correlates to Sony in the sense of eventually maybe getting PS1 games downloaded).

Either way, Nintendo and MS (especially MS) has a smooth, well-oiled machine (for the most part, there are parts to both that truly suck, but overall Live is as slick and useful as anything we've ever seen on a console) for online components.

Sony finally realized how important this is going to be, and is finally putting their back into it. I have this feeling that eventually Sony will probably overtake MS in this area if they stick with it and are relaxed with content, especially user content.

Microsoft is a stick in the mud about this. They are very rigid in their rules or standards (or both) as to what users can put on Live for download. I understand this for the most part as it can easily lead to cheating within multiplayer games with hacks, etc. But it is ultimately restrictive in the sense that PC gamers are still PC gamers for the sole fact that PC platform is very easy to make mods, enhancements, hacks (the good kind, not the cheater kind lol), whatever.

The other thing that Sony will probably end up beating MS at is on pricing. MS wants everyone to charge for their content they allow Live users to download it seems, and a lot of times I've heard devs say that MS is almost unreasonable when they set their mind to pricing structures. We all know the big stories about this, and if you don't, just google it. But there are plenty of others (myself included) that would love to be able to add things to games like levels, characters, maybe gamer pics, whatever, to our Xbox360 gaming experience, and of course, we cannot.

Now that's all a big "if" and "when" and no one really knows if any company can knock Microsoft off that huge, steep pedestal they've placed themselves on with their very very good online service.

However big a fan I am of Live though, I'm still extremely miffed that I have to pay $50 a year to get any real use out of it, and yet still have to pay for content (that I can get for free if the game is also on the PC platform). As well as miffed at how restrictive it can be for developers and content-creators.

I don't know if Sony charges anything for their PSN (I only have a PS2 for Guitar Hero, and it's probably 7 years old that I bought used for $50....JUST to play Guitar Hero lol). I currently have a red-ring-of-death 360 though, and I'm really thinking about just selling it when it gets returned and getting a PS3 (though I'm a huge critic of ego-Sony...but I still love games and I still love the Playstation1 heh).

anyway, as TheRocker above me says, Live is quite mature, and PSN is quite infantile still. Over time it will evolve, and it will be a robust online platform soon enough.

I have no doubts that Harmonix/EA will find a way to give us DLC for the PS3 Rock Band edition.
