So, I called EA Support, spoke with Alvin, he took my information, and explained to me that a guitar would be shipped to me, most likely on Friday (the day after Thanksgiving) and that I should expect my replacement guitar by Tuesday Nov. 27. No big deal, as we have GH2 and GH3. We have plenty of guitars here. He also told me that I would getr a confirm e-mail.
By Monday Nov. 26, no e-mail. Called EA Support, again, and spoke with Alvin, again. He appologized to me, remembered me, and forwarded the e-mail to me with the tracking number. He also informed me that they were having shipping issues and I may not have the guitar until the end of the week (Nov. 30).
Well, fast forward to Dec. 3 - I received my guitar yesterday, and I have to say, I am happier with the Xplorer then the Strat. My son loves the Strat, so he can use it to play bass.
I also got the e-mail about the free game.
Now, to the heart of the matter -
I would like to praise Alvin for not only being attentive, but kind, courteous, and honest about things with me. He was by far one of the best Tech Support people I have delt with in years. I know the shipping delays were not his fault, but he was upfront with me about the situation.
One thing - I did remain calm throughout the entire process. I know that a buck seventy is a boatload of green to shell out for a game and not have it work properly. Overall, I am pleased with the game.
Now, if we could only do something about the drum issues... We are playing with vocals, bass, and guitar.
Part of the issue is that we cannot get the timing on the drums.
Ok, I have rambled long enough.
Thank You EA. It is a great game and it will be played for a long time to come. Cannot wait for Rock Band 2!!!
