I know people hated his Ring of Fire performance (I loved it.), but he was incredible this week. Seriously, how can you not love this guy. His voice melts faces. MELTS FACES! He is the only person on the show who is different, brings something new every week, and is consistently a great singer. He never hits a bad note, and his high notes just blow my mind. I know he is different and edgy, but get your thong out of your buttcrack and accept him as a singer. Elvis wasn't loved from the get-go either.

I didn't care for Adam's song last night though. It was just over the top and korny for me. His last 2 performances have been awesome though. Mad World and Tracks of my Tears were so good.

I didn't feel that it was all that great, really. I mean, it's nice that he performances don't remind me of karaoke and all that, but he's missing something. Or rather I just get the feeling that he's trolling everybody and purposely tries to mess with songs as much as he can just to see if he can get away with it.
This dude and the LadyBoy from Tokio Hotel should do a duet. Then all the preteen girls can get all excited and seriously confused about their sexuality...even MOAR.

I've always found that line of defense humorous. Like criticizing a film or album is meaningless when the person giving the criticism can't make a better one. It's a flawed premise that people who haven't or can't do something themselves cannot give valid criticisms about others doing it. The whole "let's see YOU do better" card really doesn't bring much to the table.

I never said he couldn't sing, his voice is just incredibly annoying for me though. Plus he's not exactly anything original, and if you think that he's original you're fooling yourself.

He can sing, like I said in my first post. But what he did to that song is atrocious. Just because someone can sing it doesn't mean their voice suits a certain song or genre. That's why he butchered "Born To Be Wild".
His voice is much better suited to other types of songs.
He's still a gigantic poser though. How many magazines did he go through to come up with that "look". Blech.

Taylor was a singer songwriter. He wrote his own music LONG before Idol, and only ONE of those songs ended up on his album. It was also the only good song on the album. Once he gets back on his own and gets on a soul label, he'll start making good music again.
^ Good point with Carrie and Kelly. They also have the gift of being super hot, which goes a long way :p
