So my guitarist pointed out to me last night that the intro to Metallica's Blackened, that we all know and love now after playing the DLC song, has a strange element to it...
It's actually the original intro to the song that they recorded...but reversed! I've been listening to this song for almost 20 years and never noticed that!
So I threw it into an audio editor this morning, and turned it around, and it's pretty neat to listen to. I chopped it out the original intro and put it right next to the reversed intro to compare against, with 2 seconds of silence in between. Here it is:

(You'll have to excuse the seemingly random jumps in volume in the reversed one...I was trying to reverse their fade-in, and got it a bit wrong at points. If I get some more time today, I might try to clean it up some :))
So what do we call this? Unblackened? Whitened?? :)
