Two classic alternative rock albums. One by Nirvana and the other the Smashing Pumpkins. Which album will prevail? You decide.

I've always preferred Gish and Bleach for each, but I guess I'd have to choose Siamese Dream out of these two.

this is a very tough choice, but i slightly prefer siamese dream.

overall, i'm definitely more fond of the pumpkins anyhow, but SD falls behind adore and mellon collie (about on par with gish in my book).
i'll also agree with A_C that bleach is nirvana's finest LP.

Probably In Utero, since it is my favorite Nirvana album.

By the way, if this poll was Gish vs. Bleach it would be a lot harder for me.

I'm thinking In Utero. But what do I know?

In Utero for nostalgia's sake.

Awwww, damn. Now this is hard. But I'll have to go with In Utero by a hair.

For me not really. Bleach has some good tracks but Gish is so much better to me. Btw I voted Siamese Dream. Love that album to death.

Yeah, but for me this poll wasn't much of a choice at all. Gish is better than Siamese Dream, but not by an excessive amount, but Bleach is way ahead of In Utero in my opinion, so that makes it hard for me.

So far tied 5-5.

I always felt Bleach reflected the current scene better than it did Kurts ambitions, if that makes sense.

Gish is better than Siamese Dream yes but Bleach being better than In Utero? I don't think so.

OPlNIONS LOL

I have mine and you have yours. Never did I say that you had to like Bleach better than In Utero just because I said so.

from best to worst...

adore=bleach>mellon collie>siamese dream>in utero>gish=nevermind>zeitgeist>machina

not counting the compilation albums, though both bands had extraordinary b-sides and rarities.

Siamese Dream is pretty solid and I really can't stand nirvana but I thought that In Utero was one of their more bearable albums. I'd say Siamese Dream wins.

What do you not like about Nirvana?

hard to say exactly theres something about the songs that seems a little depressing and although its probably not the right word, whiny. I can see why a lot of people like them but they aren't for me.

wow, tough choice, I'd say in utero is the better album overall, but siamese dreams has some better tracks.

I love the Pumpkins and I'll admit they sound equally as whiny as Nirvana so you kinda having a losing argument.

A losing argument for why I like a certain album better? I don't think I'm arguing anything, I'm giving an opinion and in my opinion Smashing Pumpkins is a more listenable band than nirvana because of some qualities that I don't think nirvana pulls off well. Happy?

Not argument I mean point. You claim to not like Nirvana because they sound "too whiny" and I'm saying that Billy Corgan's voice is also whiny. You know what I mind as well stop before I get banned because I got banned recently for something really stupid.

I'm not a huge fan of either but I think that he can pull off the whinyness better, it for whatever reason annoys me less.

shouldn't the poll be Siamese Dream Vs. Nevermind?

In any case, for me, I like both bands, but the Pumpkins would always win. I prefer the musicianship and uniqueness of the Pumpkins sound, as well a their willingness to try new things.

I really like In Utero but Pumpkins > Nirvana in my book. Well, most of the time anyway.

Siamese Dream hands down, very diverse but cohesive listening experience. It's a classic through and through that will stand the test of time better than In Utero, but that's just my opinion.
