I want to be in the Pre-Order Club! Do they have a motto? A clubhouse? Are girlz allowed, or is it a serious club?

I'm curious as well. I've held off preordering until I know exactly what I have to do to get in. I don't want to have to cancel and re-order through Harmonix or something dumb like that.

I want mine at midnight if possible. I did in-store pickup at Gamestop. So mine's reserved, but I don't have to pay until I pick it up. So I think I'm okay if I do have to cancel my preorder.

By September Gamestop might be out of business because the Federal Trade Commission is after them for selling used games for new prices. So I'd be cautious on pre-ordering anything from them for months away. Not to mention you'll get handed a used copy anyhow when you paid for a new one.

Flawless,

It's just a matter of whether a game will sell-out in the first few days and whether you're willing to wait weeks for it to come in again.

Most pre-orders only require a $5 deposit, and then you can decided closer to the game's release whether you want to hold the reservation or not.

If it's something you really really want, like Rock Band: The Beatles, it's worth the $5 IMO.

I never pre-order games, I just don't see a point.

1) When there's a pre-order goodie you want
2) If you can get it cheaper by pre-ordering

I suppose wanting it right away is a very mild third. At least, it is for me.

I live in the middle of no where, I'm never worried about supply about any game to be honest.

Last time I pre-ordered something it got 'back logged' and I found it in Wal-Mart an hour later.

Yeah I only pre-order games if there's some sort of bonus involved. For example, I got the original Banjo-Kazooie (a $15 value) for XBLA free last year because I pre-ordered BK: Nuts & Bolts.

I suspect it'll be worth it to pre-order the Beatles game.

Also, it's not individual codes, it's just one static code from where you preorder.

I hardly ever pre-order anything. There are always tons of copies of whatever game or movie is coming out each week. There were a couple of games I pre-ordered with goodies attached, but they are rare cases. I'll pre-order this game, however. I want to see what the supposed goodies are going to be for this. Really important is arrival time. I'm going to be getting the day off of work to play (as is my gf). It is very important that we play the day it comes out. It will be a letdown if the day arrives and we have no game. So we might just end up buying it in the store anyway if the goodies aren't something amazing.

Now how in the heck do they sell you a used copy when it on release day? Also, were they actually re shrink wrapping them as though they were new? Just curious because this is the first I heard about it. Plus all the new games I've bought have always had at least one of those stupid clear pieces of tape stuff on one of the edges. Anyway, just curious. Pretty weak of them to do this crap though. NOT COOL!

They don't do that on release day and they aren't being harped on by any organization over high used prices. The guy is overblowing the issue.

There IS however a true threat the federal trade commission is taking out on GameStop because of their employee "borrowing" policy. Employees are allowed to check games out every week to take home and play just as long as they return them with the proper packaging. Naturally, that would place these games as "used" under a lower used price, right?

Wrong. Games checked out by employees, despite being "gutted" (removed from the casing at some point or without a case at all) are sold entirely as "new" at full price (i.e. if somebody checked out Rock Band 2 on Xbox 360 and then returned it, it would sell for $59.99). It took them long enough, but now the FTC is cracking down on them and GameStop is currently "reviewing" their policy (whatever that means).

The most you can do is make sure that what you're buying is what you want. If you ask for a game and they hand you an opened game/only the disc with documentation, turn it down and ask for a sealed copy. If they don't have one left, then it's tough luck for that GameStop. Don't be rude about it; it isn't the employee's fault. Just politely decline and go get the game from another store. They can't do this for pre-orders (unless you get there too late), so no harm done.

Freakin' awesome. I can't wait to see these controllers, especially since the Rickenbacker's getting one! I prefer it over George's Gretsch to be honest...even though I'll probably be playing "as him" in my The Beatles Rock Band...band. It's just such a damn snazzy guitar! Thank you for making it!

Actually, I might retract my previous statement about not using the Gretsch. I thought for sure they'd be doing the Country Gentlemen, but it turns out they're using the Duo Jet, which is basically a classier Les Paul:

http://www.thecanteen.com/gretschduo.jpg

But I don't know...if the Rickenbacker 325 uses the black-with-gold color scheme, I think I'll be sold on that. Nothing says "stylish guitar" like gold elements on black body.

http://www.thecanteen.com/John325bigsby.jpg

Though really, if you just paint the RB2 Strat's body sonic blue then you have a guitar for both the "John" and the "George" in your band.

Even though it appears so. Believe me I think if any of us had actually got on the site, we would be sharing the info, every blogger is going to reveal the content.

The guy @ Game Stop said even you had a code, it's still not working.

Nope.

Incorrect. Nothing has been confirmed one or the other re: transferability/exportability/importability etc. It could very well be 'no deal' on that, but until someone from HMX says TB:RB is completely stand-alone, no one knows for sure.

Question, wasn't a little something extra given out to those who pre-order this game? If so, anyone have any idea as to what it may be?

Nothing "extra" was given. There's a code that so far is used for getting bonus news. No additional "goodies" have been handed out yet.

I doubt there will be.

Does anyone know if the pre-order club is showing more now that the website has unleashed a wave of awesomeness for everyone else?

There is nothing new on the preorder page. Just the same two news stories: one on the guitar controllers, one on the bass controller. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Where did you preorder from?

Where did you preorder from?

I pre-ordered from amazon.co.uk ages ago, which now says (on the product page)

"Customers pre-ordering Beatles Rock Band titles will receive a special code to allow them to join the Rock Band Pre-order Club. The European website for the Pre-order Club is not yet live. Customers will be emailed their code nearer to the release date, once the site is live."

Anyone in the US and possibly Canada should get in touch with wherever they got it from though because they've been available there for ages, rest of world don't hold your breath. Be thankful of simultaneous release at least!

Pre-order bonus from GameStop:

Online / In-Store Pickup Customers: Code and activation instructions will be emailed to you when the game ships.

Store Customers: A rave card containing a code and download instructions will be available at time of game pick-up.

Pre-order bonus from GameStop:

I wonder if this will be available any other way. I personally don't like Gamestop as a company and go out of my way to avoid buying from them.

doesn't sound very special to me. 3 free songs is cool but only 6$... and a photo album is nice but there's so many beatles photo albums out there, including free online ones, that it's really not that special

I went in to reserve the game at GameStop (having seen the USSR video and the pre-order bonus).

The guy behind the counter had no clue what I was talking about. Of course, I'm not a big fan of his anyway...since he's one of those GameStop employees that pretends to know a lot about games but constantly pumps out false info as fact.

I bite my tounge, mostly because I'm a regular at the store and would rather not lose the good standing I've built.

I made a pre-order there the day it went up for pre-order... I mailed them about the code they didn't knew about that, so they went to get info, and like a month later I received the code... so mail them asking for the code and you will receive it

no that only works if you've entered your code in the box already. because when you hit submit when you've never entered a code you go to the screen that says Buy the game at the following retailers to get your code.(Best Buy, Sams Club, Game Stop, Amazon to name a few)

They actually state on the site that the European Pre-Order club is not live yet, is that true?

Edit: I sent them a mail, and they said haven't gotten the codes from their supplier, and would send them whenever they got them. They also told me to wait until 1 September and mail them if I haven't gotten it by then.

Edit2: Got it the other day :D
