so my original guitar crapped out after a couple weeks, downstrum did basically nothing unless I pressed HARD!
I just got my replacement less than 20 minutes ago and I was SUPER excited to get back into playing, lo and behold... the replacement guitar is even WORSE!!!!
The downstrum doesn't register any notes. In the song list I can tap the strum down once and 2 seconds later it automatically scrolls, quickly, to the very bottom of the list.
Guess I will have to wait.. AGAIN!! This is ridiculous! Anyone else having issues like this or did I just stumble across some bad mojo??

Definitely some ill winds up your kilt there. Does your replacement say anything about a 30-day return? I know you are still covered under the original 60-day, but I believe each replacement probably has it's own return time frame. Just keep shipping them back until you get a decent one.

The replacement I received seems to be working fine except for one issue - the fret buttons are now "clacky" and seem to stick.

My replacement I got yesterday has stickier frets and the overdrive rarely works.

I forgot to add the overdrive part. I'm simply pushing the SELECT button now to set it off. It's easier anyways.

Not just you. My replacement is worse than the first one and barely registers a downstroke unless you press it really hard, and overdrive goes off randomly.
I want to love these guitars but they really have huge quality issues.

This is what I was afraid of, my replacement Strat should be here today (currently listed as "out for delivery"). The Strat I got with the bundle works most of the time, but started having intermittent problems with the strum bar, and overdrive NEVER worked right. So I ordered the replacement because I thought it would have better strum bar and the overdrive issue would be fixed, but I keep reading more & more that these issues continue to be a problem. On top of that, I am also starting to see "stress lines" on my drum pedal, so that's about to break. I would understand if these things happened after months & months of playing, but after just a couple of weeks is ridiculous. I know that EA & Harmonix are trying their best to do the right thing, but these issues should have been dealt with BEFORE releasing the game for sale. Such a shame that these shoddy "instruments" are tarnishing what could have been a groundbreaking video game.

I just recieved my replacement too and noticed a very obvious loose screw sound under the strum bar casing. I decided to play a few songs before I got too upset. Well......while the strum bar seems to be working, for now, it's impossible to go into overdrive by tilting the guitar in the air the way it's supposed to work. I can't believe the replacements are worse than the originals. I'm really sick about the whole thing. 170 bucks isn't chump change by any means and I wish I could just take the whole thing back and get a refund. I'd buy the actual game by itself and pass on the bundle. Not that I'm glad that other people are having problems with their replacements, I do feel less screwed, knowing that I'm not the only one who's disappointed with the replacement guitar. What, as consumers, can we really do about any of this? They've got our money already. I guess we should just consider it a very expensive lesson.

I'm in the same boat...yay! Third time is the charm?

Ditto. My FIRST replacement was much worse than the original (downstrum doesn't register at all and overdrive don't work so good). They claim my second replacement should be shipped any day now. Worst part? Because I'm doing this "express" my credit card now has two times the credit hold joy. Thought that was pretty bad customer service to put, yet, another credit hold on my card because of their shoddy manufacturing. The first credit hold for express I could understand, but the second one? If the second replacement doesn't work PERFECTLY ('cause now I'm just pissed), I'm returning the whole thing for a full refund.

My new guitar works, well for lack of a better word perfect. The overdrive goes off when its supposed to , and while the frets, seemed a little loud at first that has all but stopped, they are smooth and consistent. And the strum....like butter......:p:)

This is exactly what my replacement guitar does. It gets stuck on down strumming. In the menus, it is easy to figure out. When you go to select a song, you go down and it just keeps going.
I am calling EA today to get my third guitar and third drum set. The drums still won't play fast notes. My first set was the red drum, now it is all the drums.
I hope they don't expect to have a hold on my card this time.

Same here. The replacement had a wonky strumbar, and it wouldn't even register strums at all when I tilted the next up for overdrive. If only the production quality was as good as the style.
I think I'll sell the next replacement on eBay and wait until they have a model that's not so prone to defects.

Wow - I'm shocked. My replacement is a hundred times better than the original. I'm even hitting hammer-ons with more success than before.
When did you get your replacements? Maybe it's a good thing that I was in the "delayed" batch.

Just got the replacement for my replacement. MUCH BETTER. Everything works. Overdrive is easy to start. Frets aren't funky. The first replacement was really, really bad. But this one seems better. Don't know if this indicates anything, but the first replacement had green stickers reading PA1 whereas the second replacement is PB3 (don't know if this is a later manufacturing number or just a random sticker they put on these things).
But so far (fingers crossed) the replacement to my replacement is working.

MUCH BETTER.
Does it have magnetic or mechanical (http://community.rockband.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=14051) switches?

My PS3 guitar crapped out after 3 hours and is doing the "stuck on down strumming" also. Its not a replacement, its right from the bundle.

Yeah my replacement drum kit SUCKED!! Still the red pad and the yellow pad did not work. The bass pedal also does not register all the time now causing me to fail songs. Went and bought a new rock band and the drums was fine but the pedal still does not work even in the new one! WHAT GIVES EA/HARMONIX???
