Yeah. I saw Dead on Arrival and thought about the Foo Fighters... That song rocks. Fall Out Boy does not rock, I don't know what they do, or why anybody likes them or their lack of talent... but... whatever.

Fall Out Boy is really just mediocre, not nearly as bad as elitists make them out to be, and not nearly as good as the mainstream implies they are.

Dead on Arrival certainly isn't my least favorite song, and I wouldn't fill the forums with complaints if they had a DLC song or pack.

I mean, my least favorite song is by KISS, and I think they deserve a pack, so you know. I wouldn't download it, but I think it should be there for those who want it.

That's true. I think the problem with the three-song week is there's rarely a large amount of variety (especially with artist packs), so every week some fan is going to be disappointed.

While my opinion on Fall Out Boy (that they suck) has no place in this conversation, I would however like to talk more in terms of practicality.

First of all, almost every single review I read on the game from both professionals and regular people found a special time in them to express their dislike of the inclusion of Fall Out Boy in the setlist. This would imply that not many people cared much for it and so spending money licensing the songs and putting them up for download only to find that hardly anyone downloads them would probably be a bad idea.

Second, there's the fact that not much of Fall Out Boy's music lends itself well to Rock Band. Much of the music is repetitive and musically uninteresting. The guitar parts largely consist of "chord-chord-chord-chord-chord-chord-chord-other-chord-chord-chord-etc".

If you like this music, that's great (I guess) but you have to keep in mind that they aren't making a game just for you, they're making it for everyone, and emo music generally isn't terribly popular outside of the emo crowd.

seriously. thats exactly why i didnt want fallout boy on Rock Band. If some people want to waste thier time, money, and ears listening too it whatever. they can download it seperate. But putting it on the setlist and forcing me too play through it just too progress??? thats just wrong. its a lot harder to play drums without your audio plugged in.

I don't really have an issue with Fall Out Boy, they are no where close to great, but they are also far away from sucks. I think the biggest misconception is they are the ultimate indie band, when that couldn't be further from the truth. Its radio friendly Power-Pop, its not like they sold out, they where always that way even when they where independant. Do they have good songs? yes, do they have bad songs? yes. Put some stuff on a DL pack that will be fun to play like "The Take Over, The Breaks Over", "7 Minutes in Heaven", "Hum Hallelujah" That would be a damn decent set for them. My one request thought is GOD PLEASE DONT LET CREED FIND A WAY ONTO ROCK BAND!

Ignoring the fact of whether FOB is talented or not, I have to say that listening to them (and other pop-punk groups) is a great stepping stone to get into some of the older punk bands. Kind of like testing the waters, so to speak, and I'm all for more people listening to older punk or hardcore.

If you listen to soft bands like Fall Out Boy you get into HARDER music which is actually REAL. I still like FOB nevertheless, but it got me into like more upbeat hard fast music.

While I agree with the majority of the people there that FOB is awful, I still am glad it is included in this game. Sure it sucks that maybe a better song could have taken Dead on Arrival's place, but it's nice to finally see a guitar hero style game that includes more types of songs. As much as I love rocking out to the 60s, 70s, and 80s, the fact that some more recent songs are included and potentially will be included is fun too, especially when you have people over and you're all rocking out on the game. It's nice to have people actually know the words to some of the songs. I guess maybe I just don't mind FOB since it means we have some quality grundge 90s and acceptable Killers/Jet songs.

I beg to differ. FOB has some deep moments embedded into their lyrics, if you are willing to give them a try. However, like most pop-punk, some of their lyrics are a bit trite - but at least they are receptive towards progression as a band.

If you want to talk about bands that can't sing, you can't forget Jet or The Clash. Should I Stay Or Should I Go is straight chords and repetitive (4 chords the entire song). With the exception of the "solo", Are You Gonna Be My Girl is straight chords, and extremely repetitive. Curt Kobain is probably one of the worst vocalists I have ever heard. In Bloom is pretty much chords. My question is: why is everybody hating on FOB when a lot of the other songs in the game pretty much resemble the same characteristics? Remember: musically, Nirvana sucked (except drums). But, for the time when they played, they were awesome.

If you're basing The Clash off of a bull**** song off their second to worst album written by their drummer, who doesn't take credit for it, sang by mick jones, then go ahead. They've had much, much better stuff like Complete Control, Magnificent Seven, all of London Calling. Should I Stay or Should I Go, though I like it, is nowhere near the top of the Clash's best.

You can read my first post in this area to get an idea of how I feel about Fall Out Boy, the thing here is that they are no where near as bad as some of you guys are making them out to be. It's not my type of band, it's obviously not some of you guys type of band, but to pull the rug out from under them and say they suck is a bit harsh. I think some people maybe turned off to Fall Out Boy due to the fact that it's what some of us refer to as "Girlfriend Bands" meaning its ok for our girlfriends to listen to but we wouldn't be caught dead. Also in my previous post I said they have "some good songs", and if nothing else they have great melody at times and some fun riffs.

I like Fall Out Boy a hell of alot more than Creed, but I am by no means a fan. We can rag on them all we want even so with Creed. But I will give credit when it's due. Creed, Fall Out Boy as well as many other bands led to the resurgance of rock in any shape or form from the early 2000's. When they came to kill the Pop Prince and Princessess Like Backstreet Boys, N'Sync, and Mrs. Federline err..... Spears. So we all should be thanking some one some where for stopping that non-sense instead of ragging on bands that faught the odds in the music industry and made something happen in a time where it wasn't about the sound, but about the looks, and the ability to be over processed in the studio and by the media.

i love old fall out boy songs i thought they were just great to listen to. but honestly i think most of these people bashing fall out boy are just following the crowd. cause there are soooo many bands that are worse on that game that when i see i cringe on the inside cause it's such a horrible song to me but someone else might like it. with rockband they wanted to cover many genre's of music and decades of it too. there's gonna be song we love there's gonna be songs we hate. trying to please everyone on the set list is near to impossible. i bet when most of you played guitar hero there were plenty of ****ty songs on that game that u may not of liked either but other people may have. and if people want downloadable FOB then hey i support that since it's reaching a certain audiance ( and FOB is on the radio alot now so i think a lot of people will buy the content ) and if you don't want them then don't buy it maybe your band your looking for will come out next week.
