(No, I'm not talking about "Rehab Hero"... not yet anyway.)
So, is there a way to recover the name of a band once you've deleted it?
I mostly play guitar, so I created my guitar avatar ("Doug") first. I wanted to create a band, realized I'd need two avatars to play, and created a "scratch" vocal avatar real fast.
Then when I created the band, I did it from the vocal avatar, since it's easier to "type" from a standard controller than it is from the guitar controller.
Eventually I wanted to customize my vocals avatar, and created a new one ("Doug's Voice"), and deleted the old avatar and band.
Went online a few times that way (bass on medium, vocals on easy, it's not too bad that way). Then I created a new band with the old name, and it told me the name was taken and could only be used locally. So, okay, I figured someone else snatched it up in between when I deleted the old one and created the new one, and I made a new name.
Today I brought my memory card into the office to play with other people locally. I realized, when I'm playing with other people, I'm going to be on guitar much more often than I'm going to be on vocals, so I finally created a band with my guitarist as the leader. Deleted the old band and created the new band right away, within seconds of each other, and it still told me "that name is in use and can only be used locally".
So, it now looks to me like once you register a band name, that name is taken forever, even if you delete the band!
Is there any way to recover from this? Will it be a function of the online site at some point maybe?
