Reinforce your drum pedal

I have had 2 break in the same spot.

I just received the first new one, it took a week.

Upon inspecting it, and compressing it by hand, I can see the problem.
It visibly deflects quite a bit, (bends) and the stress eventually causes it it crack and break.
This is avoided by installing a plate or even some flat strips of metal to stiffen and reinforce the flex point.

I know this has had a lot of discussion, but it is crucial that something be done, preferably before the pedal starts to crack.

There are posts on how to do the reinforcements abounding, we are going to use custom shaped aluminum diamond plate.

Harmonix: This is an obvious design defect that needs to be addressed with a design change, not just sending the same weak pedal out as a replacement.

I dont see any problems arising from user reinforcement, but it sucks to have to mod a product just to make it do what it was "designed" to do.

ye harmonix get with the program.send us a real drum pedal not this craptastic plastic piece of ****.hav u ever seen a real drummer use a plastic pedal no becuz of how hard they hav to pound it for double and triple bass.and if u knew this was gona happen and u did then u should have already started out with metal ones or made the bass less hard on expert and hard.people are not gona buy as much of ur game for xmas as u think when everyone hears about the craptastic polastic pedal as i like to cal it untill the problem gets fixed becuz most people are only buyn the games for the drums so when the c that the pedal will brake and theyll have 2 wate 1-3 weeks for a replacemtn theyl go bak to gh which had a much better song list just less replay value.so fix the problem be4 u loss this game to gh
