Lefty mode not working right?

I've been trying to play with lefty mode for the guitar and I'm getting conflicting responses. For me it doesn't flip the color bars around to match the way you're holding the guitar but I'm hearing from other folks that it's suppose to. Is this true? For instance, in right handed mode it goes from left to right on the screen: green, red, yellow, blue, orange. For lefty mode I'm hearing and I was also hoping that that order would be reversed to correspond on the screen. Input?

Did you try switching it into lefty mode before beginning a song, or was it from within the song?

Did it before the song from the main title screen and then right into Options -> Gameplay Options. Showed my profile and name right above.. Just checked the options in the song itself and yeah, lefty mode was not enabled in the options through the song.. though if I back up all the way to the menu and goto the options there it does show it as being active.. really really odd. It works now that I've turned on lefty mode inside the song.
