I searched for a thread on this, and nothing came up. If I didn't see it, just tell me and I'll let this die. I just got up and saw this on Kotaku.

I can't check Kotaku from this computer :(
Does this have to do with that online one that was being talked about?

I'll post the article for you. It's not a sequel, and it's being worked on by another company that isn't Bethesda.
Fallout New Vegas was announced moments ago during a Bethesda press conference in London.
The new game was revealed by Bethesda's Pete Hines who said that the publisher is working with Obsidian Entertainment on the title.
It will be coming out next year for the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.
"It is not a sequel to Fallout 3," Hines said. "It's simply another Fallout game in that universe."
It will be the same sort of role-playing game experience seen in Fallout 3, he said. The game's official reveal, with more details and a look at the game down the line.
Hines added that this title will have no impact on what Todd Howard and his team are working on.
Obsidian Entertainment is the development studio that rose from the ashes of Black Isle Studios, responsible for developing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords, Neverwinter Nights, Alpha Protocol, and Sega's Aliens: Crucible RPG, which is currently on indefinite hold.

Thanks for that!
I guessed they'd bring out a sequel or something else on the Fallout line pretty soon, given that Fallout 3 got such ridiculously good reviews

They're still working on the game, they're just working with Obsidian Entertainment.

But that is awesome. I cannot wait!
E3 this year is Def going to RULE!

Personally, I prefer to take a nap when I wake up =).

New fallout game? Hell, I'm still waiting on my DLC that keeps getting delayed :p
Hopefully they don't earn the reputation of Blizzard: Expect it 10 years after we announce it will be out :D

Isn't Obsidian one of the devs of the original Fallout games?

If the graphics are just as beautiful as Fallout 3, consider me on board. That game is a graphical display of brilliance, if you ask me

Yep, at least that's what wikipedia says...
Hopefully that means we'll have some decent writers working on this one so we don't end up with more towns springing up in undetonated bomb craters and other ******ed crap like that....

Maybe they`ll make it an overhead shooter, like Fallout: Brother of Steel. heh

Actually I have one problem with this: why Vegas? There was already a New Reno in Fallout 2 and a new Vegas would be essentially the same thing no?

I liked Megaton.... :( I bet you detonated the bomb for the pad in Tenpenny Tower too? Didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?! :p

I'm thinking Vegas and the Vegas wasteland will be much bigger than New Reno. New Reno had what? Four? Casinos. I'm pretty sure Vegas will have all the stuff it has now :p.
Anyways, I'm psyched for this.

Nope, Megaton's still un-blowed-up...
It's true New Reno was small but given the scope of Fallout 2 in general all the cities were... Personally, (with some bias) I'd love to see a Fallout game set in the Golden Horseshoe (essentially the strip of land off the western tip of Lake Ontario which stretches from Buffalo to Toronto). It'd be fun to see how survivors from opposite sides of the border would react in the absence of government...

I dunno about that guy but I didn't, instead I killed the guy that offered the job and stole all his goodies, then later on in the game I came back to Megaton and went on killing spree to get the achievement for killing 200 people.
I liked Megaton though, I like the little house they let me have, it's like my little hideout.
Can't wait for this new FO. Vegas sounds WAY more interesting than DC.

I used black widow on Mr Bruke in Megaton. The letters are creepy obsessive.
And btw, easiest way to get 200 kills: Do the operation anchorage dlc. 200 kills in NO time :)

The letters? What letters?
I played as a dude (cos I'm a dude) (Hes a dude shes a dude we're all dues hey) Dudes get Ladykiller.
So if you like, have black widow dudes you seduce will send you letter? I'm confused?
I had to kill him because I turned him down on his offer so he calmly stood up and walked out of Moriority's and went BERSERK as soon as he got outside and killed the sheriff and attacked me so I was like "OH SHI-" and had to kill him.
I got the achievement a long time ago, before the anchorage DLC. I needed people to kill so I killed everyone in bigtown, the town on top of that bridge who are plagued by "vampires," a bunch of people in Tenpenny tower, and people in Megaton. I hated Moira.

You seduce him, and he leaves immediately and then starts sending you love letters that you can get at the jerk irish guy's bar. It's ... bizarre lol.

Morioraty or moriorety or whatever his name is. I hated him. First guy I killed when I took out Megaton. Next was that punkass Jericho guy.

I didn't kill any innocents except when I was about to hit the trophy levels, I killed a bunch then to lower my karma so I could get the evil and neutral trophies without playing again. A simple reload later and I was back to being Jesus :p
I also killed Amata once, after completing the "Trouble on the Homefront" quest because she banished me when there was nothing I could do other than kill the overseer because he was insta-aggro on me for some reason. Plus I wanted to fully reenact the final scene of Bloody Mess Fallout 1 :D
