A few tracks by the following bands would be a good start: Alabama Thunderpussy, Clutch, Eagles of Death Metal, Electric Wizard, Fu Manchu, The Hellacopters, The Hidden Hand, High on Fire, ISIS, Kyuss, Masters of Reality, The Melvins, Monster Magnet, Nebula, Orange Goblin, Pixies, Place of Skulls, Seemless, Sleep, Witchcraft. To name some of Underground's favorites.

Not the least bit, I have no clue who they are either. But what I DO know is that Lordi is the best band ever. So...do with that what you will.

Problem is, if you want to sell the most games, you have to stick with music that is "popular" and underground does not fall in that category... Not saying it's not good, just not "popular" ...

It doesn't surprise me that the majority of people haven't heard of any of them. That's why I had to "find" them to begin with. What may surprise you is how many bands you love would site more than one of them as a major influence. I'm not saying the game should be all underground music, but a few songs by less known bands will ultimately improve the game.

Those're some cool bands you listed and I agree that there should be more indie-type stuff, but I think they're trying to pick songs that people will recognize and be able to sing along to.

I mean Bon Jovi sucks but you know "Dead or Alive" is going to help Rock Band sell like crazy (and who knows, maybe it'll even be fun).

At the very least they should include some of the underground stuff as DLC.

Goodness I love underground. Love it so much. I wish they would put some of these bands in. I don't know ALL of them either. Some but not all but what I do think would be great is if Rock Band became less of a pop culture fest and more of a window to music I've never heard before.

GH sort of did that but I wanted alot deeper indie stuff.

Still I'm not disappointed at all with Rock Bands setlist thus far. As much as I do love current underground I also love 60s and 70s just as much. Just put in good music. At the end of the day that's all that matters.

I could see some indie bands with DLC tracks. Even better have a week out of the month reserved for indie bands and have the community suggest.

I agree with "army of me", crappy songs are still fun to play but even just one song by one of the bands I listed would make "radio haters" like me consider buying a game they otherwise might not. If you want a bigger audience, make a wider variety of music lovers feel included.

Alabama Thunderpussy is the best band ever. Just to say.

Anyway, I agree that they should add more underground songs.

Well, I know some of those bands. But there's good news to this.

Lil Steven, who has his show, he promotes alot of underground music, and since he's the head of choosing music, I think he might put a good word for some unknown bands.

Thats why I was pretty stoked when I heard they chose him, because he knows alot about that stuff and just sounds like the best way to get some underground music.

Great list. How about some Union Underground or Gravity Kills?
