View Full Version : Am I creating characters wrong?

So, I have about 10 friends. Yes, I really do. They all like to come over and play quickplay multiplayer and switch around on instruments. Some are girls and they LOVE to create their own characters. It seems that I have to create a 'Wendy' guitar player, 'Wendy' singer, and a 'Wendy' drummer. Naming them all a little different. Is that the only way?
Not a big deal, but people like to cheer at the beginning of a song when they see their name pop up and a likeness of them rather than 'Player 2' and some dude that looks like someone from a bad 90's mullet band.

Characters are tied to their instruments, yes. No one really likes it.

Yup, afraid so. Each instrument requires a separate character, so you're up for three minimum and an entire plethora of characters if each friend demands their own avatar for each instrument. ;)

What everyone else said. It's annoying, but unlikely to change any time soon, I would guess.
You get to play with 10 friends, and by implication, at least some of them are female, so I think you're really ahead of the game already ;)

I like it...
Although I do also wish there was a way to make a "Dave Grohl" who could play any instrument.

Thanks for the responses. Looks like I am doing it the right way. I am also annoyed that if someone uses another controller other than the one i started with, that controller needs to be 'signed in' as me, otherwise those characters don't show up at all. I feel like a big nerd when I have to stop all the action and say 'ugh.. give me the controller, let me drive...'.

Nice idea.. I never thought about spaces... I used Wendy, Wendy!, and Wendy. It's still a pain to re-create it each time. I just stopped inviting new people over. :)

You could do like the Donna's and make a Wendy S (singer), Wendy B (Bass), Wendy G, etc. etc.

Let me ask for you... FYI..She pounds a little too hard on the drums, but she has nice finger work when doing a solo.

Really all I am worried about is the solos. I am the one who likes to pound on the skins...
