That's a good list there. But I didn't find Lordi anywere. Have you heard them? They would be a great addition to that list.

Try and tell me why Seven Nation Army and Hotel California would be fun.
Go on, I dare you.
Oh, and it's Song 2. Not Woo Hoo.

Jimmy Eat World? Ewww.

Fixed the list. We definitely need some Woodstock or Monterey Pop stuff in RB.
Oh, and Bob Marley. Yes. He has alot of songs with amazing guitar solos, but Them Belly Full has the most rock-like vibe.
I woul be speechless if they actually included Soul Sacrifice by Santana. IT HAS AN AWESOME DRUM SOLO.
I'm just starting to 'cultivate' my list so suggestions or critism would be cool.

Hey viru was White Rabbit always there?

Nope, I wasn't thinking the first time I posted this thread, so I fixed and revised it. RB really needs to dig into the deepest roots of rock, and find the bands that started the phenomenon.

I'd buy that game (I'm buying RB anyway..but you know what I mean).
Only changes I would make to the list is I would add some Rage Against the Machine in the 90s (maybe "Bulls on Parade"?) and Audioslave is in the 2000s.
Creed is not so good but you need some kind of variety I suppose. I think Faith No More is a nice touch. P.O.D is kind of lame IMO but there again I suppose to you need a mix of things to keep everyone happy.
Maybe add some Beatles to the 60s?
"We're Not Alone" by Peeping Tom would be cool for the 2000s

nice list. born to be wild would be great for this game

Well let me say I like the revise even more than the original and I loved that one too.
No matter what they say about Stairway to Heaven some songs just have that nostalgic appeal.

if you need RB to dig to the roots of rock...they should add some beatles...may not have crazy guitar or drum solos...but all four parts are solid...the voice is challenging...the drum isn't constant...which makes it fun..the guitars are original...

Agreed. Beatles are one of the best things ever to happen to Rock. Even a lot of people that aren't fans still respect them because they know how much the band did for this genre.

Added RATM - Bombtrack, and fixed Audioslave. :)
I, too agree that The Beatles are an outstanding band, but it'd be kind of hard to get the liscences for the band to put in RB.
And also, who's into Santana? :D
Xzyliac
07-17-2007, 06:22 AM
And if we're going for the roots of rock maybe some Ramones? And Allman Brothers?
And if I may suggest Lady Madonna or Strawberry Fields Forever.
You know one of the labels signed onto RB have rights to some of the Beatles.

I think Revolution, Helter Skelter, Old Brown Shoe, Rain, and Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except for Me and My Monkey would be the best choices for The Beatles.

Ooh. Blitzkreig Bop was the first thing that came to mind when I heard The Ramones, but I'm not that much of a Ramones fan myself, but I think it'd be a perfect party song :o .

Check out I Wanna Live by The Ramones. It's got really good guitar.

Already heard of it, I just couldn't remember any Ramones songs. Thanks for reminding me, it does have good guitar :p .
Added the official confirmed songs to the list to avoid confusion and whatnot.

A good list. There is a lot of variety, i like that. But I still miss some Killersongs, like Last Resort by Papa Roach, and some of my favourites, like Placebo and Angels & Airwaves (well, you got Blink in, but I like AvA much better).
By the way, The Darkness - I believe in a thing called love is a song of 2003, not one of the 70s. ;) (Though it may sound so)
MetalChickenDragon
07-17-2007, 10:42 AM
Another suggestion for the 90s
"Fell on Black Days"-Soundgarden
if your gonna have both RATM and Audioslave in there you might as well even it up with some soundgarden:)
viru30
07-17-2007, 11:17 AM
Meh, might as well throw in some Temple of The Dog while we're at it. :P Joking.
Really, Soundgarden and Audioslave sound way too similar, especially with Chris Cornell's voice. They may not have the same look and feel, but the vocal stylings are too recognizable to one another.
Coldplayer: To me, personally, I don't think A&A would fit into RB. Actually, The Transplants or +44 would fit in better, in my opinion. They're a little too mellow for me.

I feel like there should be a Green Day song in there. Something like 'Basket Case' would fit nicely. Regardless of some people's feelings on the band, Green Day would be a pretty good draw for the 90s crowd.

Heh, I actually had it on there, but removed it for some reason. Dookie era Green Day are awesome. Everything after Warning sort of sucks.

Yeah Green Day would be nice =)
I'd like some Alice in Chains for the 90's as well.

Stone Temple Pilots > Alice In Chains.
Yes, AIC are a very influential, and well revered band, but there are so many other bands that have the same type of animosty as them, and much more. Queens of The Stone Age, Nine Inch Nails, and as afore mentioned, Stone Temple Pilots. I'm really not sure. Them Bones was nice in GH, but I don't see alot of songs by them that suit RB.

Song 2 is 90's not 2000's.

"Down in a Hole" perhaps?

Might I suggest Queen? Seven Seas of Rhye or The Show Must Go On come to mind.
This gets better and better! Great work! Best setlist I've ever seen. Period.
Although it could use some Lordi and underground rock.

Thanks alot, Xzyliac.
Added Somebody To Love by Queen. It has a nice intro and bassline.
And added Hard Rock Hallelujah by Lordi. :D
I still feel like I'm lacking in the 80's... Probably because Guitar Hero Encore: Rock's The 80's took all the awesome songs. :(
Any suggestions for some good pop-ish 80 songs? :D

"Hungry like the Wolf" - Duran Duran
"You Got Another Thing Coming"- Judas Priest (Its metal but still 80s)
"Personal Jesus"- Depeche Mode
"I Still Believe"- Tim Cappello
"I Ran"- Flock of Seagulls
"I'm Afraid of Americans" David Bowie (I dont think its 80s but come on..its freakin Bowie)
"Don't Stop Believing" - Journey
maybe you could use some of these?
viru30

Added Hungry Like The Wolf. :O
And one Bowie song is enough for RB, I think. Plus, I'm Afraid of Americans is a Nine Inch Nails+Bowie collab. :)

Added Shine by The Burden Brothers. Wha? Who are they you say? Only one of the best up and coming bands from Dallas, Texas. This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eat2Tuudmjo) will probably make you want this song in Rock Band. The lead singer is from The Toadies and the guitarist is from Reverend Horton Heat, two bands I'm sure you're familiar with.

Wow that list was WINNER. You actually included some non metal in your 80s section. Your 70s and 60s sections are great, and the 90s and 00s are good too. I'd suggest a band that kind of mixes the New Wave, and Rock is Big Country. They have a few music videos on youtube. Maybe the song "In a Big Country" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTqwaTXdPPQ) or Wonderland (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KyFiyCa9pDo). I'm sorry to spam this band in suggestion topics, but I really like them.
