I picked a song from each band, not already represented in Rock Band, that I could think of. All songs equal bass, guitar, vocal and drum parts throughout the song, for the most part. I tried to pick songs that were approachable for casual players, as well, particularly when selecting a Led Zeppelin song. A large portion of them even have non-explicit lyrics.
Alice in Chains "Rooster"
At the Drive-In "Invalid Litter Department"
The Beatles "Come Together"
Blind Melon "Tones of Home"
Blink 182 "Stay Together for the Kids"
Cream "Sunshine of Your Love"
Dave Matthews Band "Ants Marching"
The Doors "Break on Through"
Eagles "Hotel California"
Elvis Presley "Suspicious Minds"
Everclear "Santa Monica (Watch the World Die)"
Filter "Welcome to the Fold"
Fleetwood Mac "Go Your Own Way"
Green Day "She"
Guns N' Roses "Paradise City"
Incubus "I Wish You Were Here"
Jane's Addiction "Been Caught Stealing"
Jimi Hendrix "Manic Depression"
Joe Cocker "With a Little Help From My Friends"
Kansas "Dust in the Wind"
KC & The Sunshine Band "Kung Fu Fighting"
Korn "Got the Life"
Led Zeppelin "Rock & Roll"
Lynyrd Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama"
Muse "Muscle Museum"
No Doubt "Sunday Morning"
The Offspring "Come Out and Play"
Pearl Jam "Rearviewmirror"
A Perfect Circle "The Outsider"
Phish "Bouncing Round the Room"
Pink Floyd "Money"
The Presidents of the United States of America "Lump"
Primus "Too Many Puppies"
Queen "Another One Bites the Dust"
Rage Against the Machine "People of the Sun"
Rancid "Out of Control"
Sublime "Santeria"
Steppenwolf "Magic Carpet Ride"
Talking Heads "And She Was"
Third-Eye Blind "Semi-Charmed Life"
Tom Petty "Free Falling"
Tool "Forty Six & 2"
U2 "Desire"
Vandals "Ball & Chain"
Violent Femmes "Blister in the Sun"
Ween "Beacon Light"
311 "Don't Stay Home"
Bands I didn't include and should have: Pantera, Van Halen, Motley Crue, Foghat, Alice Cooper, Foreigner... but I don't really listen to that stuff so I'm not going to provide my opinion. It's also a shame that the White Stripes are likely permanently off the list due to the lack of Bass, but I've been informed that The Yeah Yeah Yeahs don't have a bass player either, so .I don't know.

bump. I spent a long time thinking about this; comparing songs... so * it, right?
It's too bad Harmonix doesn't have an official way of making requests right on rockband.com, perhaps a database of sorts that tracks requests so they had a realistic way of interpreting the responses.
I feel like this forum is a mess to read through, half filled with single-thread requests for songs that don't even make sense like Wonderwall. It's an acoustic guitar song... what?
I wonder if Harmonix is even paying attention. It would be nice to have the community largely influence the song selection process instead of just whatever slim pickings the record labels decide to provide.
And what happened to the full album downloads of In Utero and the Dead that were announced months back?

You forgot the Butthole Surfers.
Ah Ha, Ulcer Breakout, or Human Cannonball would be awesome.

The band list is amazing even if I might select different songs for a few of the bands. Definitely hit on some bands which are amazingly talented but not getting much, if any, love from Rock Band or the GH series.

+1 on the good picks.
I like the suggestion of "Lump" For the Presidents, but Peaches'd be more familiar to people methinks.
