Musical Excitement

So here's a little curiosity - what albums in the next few months is everyone excited for? I was just thinking today its been actually a pretty long time since I've been looking forward to some album or new release with bated breath and I miss that.

Anyone out there got a big wishlist for things coming out soon? How excited are you?

And here's a little further examination - how excited are you? Why? Do you feel your excitement factor ebbs and falls or does it stay constant over the years? Do you pick up a lot of albums from one or two labels you follow or is it a wide net you are casting?

Sunn O))), Dinosaur Jr., Dream Theater, Sonic Youth, Slayer, YOB, and Atheist all have albums coming out this year. Can't wait for any of them.

I'm excited for the new Atheist and Maiden supposedly will have something by the end of the year which will be awesome.

Sonic Youth, Dino Jr, and Weezer's rumored album 7 are on my list for this year, and since I have yet to get Crack the Skye, that's on the list as well.

Maiden's not coming until next year. After the SBIT tour, they're completely wiped (go see Flight 666 and you'll know what I'm talking about) and are taking a break for just about the rest of the year. Nicko has stated that they'll begin writing material in November/December and hit the studio in January. Most likely, we'll see the album towards the end of the Summer or the beginning of Autumn. They've said they want to get on the road in Fall '10, so we'll see.

Orphaned Land, Atheist, Evile, Porcupine Tree (crap, I should buy those tickets), Deltron 3030 (was supposed to be 2007, so we'll see), Municipal Waste (maybe?), Madvillain (maybe?), Nevermore (probably 2010)

I've preordered the new records by the gathering and abigail's ghost, the previews sound pretty awesome. i'm eager especially for the gathering, their new vocalist sounds a lot like Marcela Bovio, so I'm expecting stream of passion with better songwriting and less wankery.

I personally can't wait until the new Wilco, Yo La Tengo, Mew, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr., and (hopefully) My Bloody Valentine albums come out.
