This band has been one of the most consistently great bands of the past 30 years and would be perfect for Rock Band. The band has many possible hits that could appear in the game like Where the Streets Have No Name, Sunday Bloody Sunday, New Years Day, or The Fly. With one of the greatest guitarists of all-time, stellar bass and drums, and of course, an amazing front-man, I think it's a no-brainer to include U2 in Rock Band.

U2?! Are you kidding?! ...they're musically incompetent - always has and always will be!

The Edge sucks harder at the guitar than a ******ed 5 year old! And that f**king Bono! ...don't get me started!

Whatever, U2 would fit perfectly. Even if you don't like their music, they're talented songcrafters. Maybe the Edge isn't the most technically accomplished guitarist but he creates memorable hooks. And c'mon, Bono has one of the greatest voices of any singer out there today.

Personally, I'm not a huge fan but I'd still like to see some New Years Day, Bullet the Blue Sky (even though it's kinda depressing) or maybe some of their older stuff.

Alright, I wouldn't want them in the game. I actually abhor U2.

But DLC... I wouldn't mind. Because I wouldn't choose it... Unless its one of those songs that is a must have. Like one of their songs from the 90's. I really can't remember. But no U2 for me.

I wouldn't mind some U2. I think Sunday Bloody Sunday would be a good one.

skip all of ya'll. U2 is da ****. everyone has a right to the music they want in a game.
hell, i would want New Years Day, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Where the Streets Have No Name, Pride (In the Name of Love) and whole bunch of others. sure, the songs may be more simplistic than others but they would still be great songs for 1st or 2nd tier songs.

Where the geeks have no shame! What U2 does has nothing to do with music - it's just a display of how you by smart marketing can fool people into buying almost anything...

I've never understood the internet hate for U2. As a band, they've created some seminal albums, and will rightly be remembered as one of the greatest groups of the last 30 years. They are an iconic group, and on the short list of bands people would think of if you asked them to describe the concept of a rock band.

...more like the concept of a hoax!

damn brotha, why are u so pissed about U2? i understand you hate them but there are actually people who love them. hell, there are plenty of songs that I hate that were on Guitar Hero 1 and 2. pissed me off knowing that songs that i liked could had been on there but ended up having songs that i didn't care for. i still loved the games nonetheless. there will never be a perfect set list for anyone because everyone has their own taste of music. thats why Rock Band try having much variety as possible. i would be pissed if Rock Band leaned toward ONLY metal or some other style of music. variety is key. hell i want some Parliament Funkadelic on here too, but i doubt it will be in the game.

U2 is like Micheal Bolton. Some people really love it. Others REALLY REALLY HATE it. Just as with Micheal Bolton, U2 deserves all the hate they get. If it makes you feel better, U2 is better than Genesis.

The song from one of the Batman movies would be ok. Love me,Kiss me,Kill me or something like that, think there's like 3 other things in the title.

i don't care how much a person hates an artist, i was just sayin' that people actually do like U2, whether you think they are talented or not. everybody has their own views of talent, and its all opinion. i know some people say that Led Zeppelin suck, while others say they are the best in the whole world. i love zeppelin more than most other bands but to other people, they may view them as untalented musicians. everyone has a right to their own opinion on whether they like something or not, its just not right to automatically right off a band as a sorry band. i don't care on who hates U2 i just think that a U2 song would be good for the game, which this thread is about. and the whole thing about Genesis, some people may like Genesis over U2 . or U2 over Genesis. its obivious thats your opinion that U2 is better than Genesis and i can agree with that, but there are die hard Genesis fans. its all about the listener's taste

I completely agree with you. Hell, I'm not even a big fan of theirs but you can't deny that they are one of the greatest bands of the current generation. As for the "U2 internet hate," I think its mainly coming from people that didn't grow up hearing their stuff in the 80s.

i think your right on that Guan. people who are hating are probably kids from this generation (although i am from this generation myself). i admit, it took me a while to get use to U2, but once i did, i started gettin into their music alot. edge maybe not the greatest or skilled guitarist out there, but he has some very memorable hooks in alot of their songs. plus, i would rather listen to U2 songs more than Yngwie Malmsteen songs since Yngwie is very repepetive. i think its safe to say that Yngwie is more skilled than the Edge, but when it comes to putting out songs, Edge clearly shows more musicianship and creativity. U2 is a great band, not the most skilled, but a great band. just like the Beatles. except the Beatles are definetly more popular and legendary

I've been around the block a couple of times in my 30+ years - and everywhere I turn there's ignorant people sucking up to the commercial machine that is U2... with so much GOOD music in this world, why waste your time listening to total garbage like Michael Bolton, Phil Collins era Genesis, Sting, The Police and U2?!

As for U2 being less repetetive than Yngwie Malmsteen that's total nonsense! Malmsteen is boring as hell, but at least he can play his instrument - not like that joke The Edge who has used the same riff since the early 90's.

Pssh! Commercial machine? Yeah, maybe nowadays they coast along on the same kind of good will and affection usually reserved for the bands like the Beatles, but they had to work their way up the same as any other band. They wouldn't be anywhere today if they didn't craft a good song or two back in the day.

Yeah, they've got some treacly ballad garbage that they play on your local easy listening station, but they've also got some (slightly) harder-edged earlier stuff. That puts in them in a category separate from Michael Bolton.

I wouldn't chalk it up to people's ignorance; it's just taste. Kids growing up today with nothing but ****ty bands like Nickleback or 3 Days Grace to listen to... that's ignorance.

hell yeah, i've been aiming at Maggot Brain since Guitar Hero 1 came out. i don't see why they can't hook up the brothas like Jimi Hendrix, Parliament, Chuck Berry, etc. they have only done one Jimi Hendrix and thats it and Thin Lizzy. not trying to bring any racial issues up because i'm not racist, just saying they need some damn Maggot Brain

I gurantee you that all these scumbags hating on U2 are basing all their opinions on their past two albums. Go listen to War, The Unforgettable Fire, The Joshua Tree, Achtung Baby, and Zooropa, then we'll talk.

oh yeah, those are classics right there. i like Joshua Tree probably the best. but they are all great albums. i admit, U2's latest stuff hasn't been their best work, but they still had some pretty good tunes. all and all, U2 is great in my opinion
