Yeah I'm giving away the buddy codes I have from my EVE online subscription. These give you 3 weeks of playtime and if you subscribe I get 30 days of free time so just post your email and Ill have one sent to you. Hard economic times are forcing me to keep me subscription going by bugging you all about playing it.

Beware of the LEARNING CURVE! Here is a graph to show you the learning curve.

I got a buddy code awhile back. I got about 5 days left on mine. I love the game, I just can't ever stay into it long enough to get myself into a Battleship. But ISK is easier to get than ever before, in fact the game is easier all around ever since the new expansion.

Bewarned, this game is not for everyone, though. But if it's your type of game you'll have a ton of fun.

I lol'd at that pic. I've heard about the notorious learning curve in EVE. I'd take you up on your offer a friend code, but from what I've read, it's not my kind of MMO.

Shouldn't you try something before saying its not your kind of MMO?

is this an all text game? if so...i tried one of these once and just laughed at the absurdity of it when i could just turn on my PS2 and play a final fantasy game.

No. Its one of the only Sci-fi MMORPGS out there with ship on ship combat. It's very complex to the point where it takes 24 years just to train all the skills to level 5 with full learning skills. Skills train while your offline and constantly so if you don't have time to play it but can pay for it you can have a friend queue skills to train for you so that you don't fall behind.
You should also try it. And the learning curve isn't much of a joke. It really seems that hard at times.

This is why I'm not interested in it. I need something easy to jump into. Being a full-time University student and a part-time worker leaves me little time to deal with super timesink games. I'm even starting to regret my decision to go back to WoW because of how much of a timesink that is. And I prefer fantasy settings to sci-fi.

However its not complex in the way most people think. The complexness comes from the terms and attributes. You have to know what they mean. In EVE online a single % higher than a regular old gun on damage can send the price up MILLIONS. Try it out, jump in.

If you want people to get a code from you you should allow us to send you messages. I'll definitely take a buddy code.

What's your favorite race to start off as? I personally prefer the Amarr (I hear they are the highest DPS dealing race right now, but they are likely to get nerfed soon.) and Gallente. (Gallente because they're a somewhat similar race to Amarr.)

I personally am a Minmatar, speed is my thing. Amarr tend to be armor tanks, Gallente a mix, and Caldari are panzy shield tanks.
Try to send a message now.

It's a mmorpg that simulates a futuristic space world. You play in vessels, in space, and you have to do quests, mine and do whatever you want to buy better ships and train yourself to drive better ships.

It's very complex (compared to most mmorpg) and very slow, but it's very involving. It's hit or miss.

Just remember. INSURE YOUR SHIP.

I've lost a high number ships due to my own stupidity at forgetting to insure them. Which equals isk lost.
